Oscar Night In Chicago: From Red Carpet Parties To Beers And A Flat Screen

So, you didn't score a Hollywood beau in time to be a plus one at Sunday's Academy Awards show in Hollywood--that doesn't mean you can't have fun at home. Oscar parties are all the rage in Chicago, so sit back, drink some wine and take in the fashion disasters and delights.

Here is our roundup of fun Oscar happenings:

Oscar Night at Gene Siskel Film Center

If you're feeling fancy and important, check out the only Chicago event recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Enjoy complimentary food and drinks, a red carpet entry, and a live showing of the Academy Awards on two big screens. Tickets are $100. More detailshere.

On the Red Carpet Oscar Party

Center on Halsted, a Lakeview-based community center for LGBTQ people is hosting a party that features a red-carpet reception, cocktails, snacks a raffle, and more. Tickets are $75 to $100. More details here.

Oscars Bowling and Viewing Party

Bowl for movie-related prizes while watching the awards and drinking themed cocktails. Also, it's good to have a distraction for the long, boring parts. Oh, and it's free (just pay for your games). 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., 10Pin Bowling Lounge, 330 N. State, 312.644.0300.
