Will Ferrell In Contract To Buy West Village Loft

First Posted: 05/05/10 06:12 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 04:45 PM ET

Will Ferrell may be the West Village's newest resident.

The New York Observer reports that the comedian is in contract to buy a three-bedroom loft at 345 West 13th Street. While the sale price is unknown, the apartment did sell for $4.4 million in 2006.

The loft has a working fireplace, open kitchen, and maple hardwood floors. It was previously being rented at $18,000 a month.

And hopefully Ferrell won't have the same problems with his new landlord as he did with the last one.

Check out the photos below from the old rental listing:

It doesn't really look or sound like that much of a great deal. But, hey, it's his money. Hey Will, if you want to sell your car, check us out at Big Bucks Auto!

I guess everyone has their own Idea of what desirability is. At least he doesn't have a yard to mow.

amazing what people will pay for a piece of junk. The area is not exactly 'scenic' either.

just amazing. The Emperor is wearing no clothes. Maybe one day these kind of deals
will be remembered along with the Edsel and lip synching.

Please, Huffpo. Stop wasting your bandwidth. A celebrity moved! A rich person bought an apartment! That does not make for news. It doesn't even make for news in a trash tabloid.

$18,000 a month? Geeeez! It's a good thing I live in the primative and clueless state of Texas (except for that jerk Governor Perry). We could rent the equivalent place in Dallas, Austin or Houston for an entire year for that amount. But then, if so, we wouldn't have the same benefits as if we lived in NYC, such as: no place to park the car, high taxes, rude people, crime, etc.

I didn't notice an actual toilet and or bidet in the bathroom. Is that typical of multimillion dollar west village lofts, or perhaps the shower is considered a space saving multi-purpose facility? I'm just wondering.......

Agree w/Vinainor. I grew up in the suburbs, moved to NYC and am loving it. When I visit my hometown in the South, it's nice temporarily. You have to have a car. Nothing is near. It's boring. I can only tolerate it for 3 days max.

There's nothing like being in the middle of it all in the greatest city on the world...to me, NYC. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

having a car is a downside for you?

Well yeah.
If you live in NYC it'll cost you $18K just to park it!

Sure it is
having to drive to the store just to pick up some milk or whatever is ridiculous in NY you can walk there in a minute or use public transportation
