i can't help but like her. even if some of her movies aren't that good her particular quirky delivery usually makes me smile or laugh.

She was not the best actres, it seemed more about the politics and popularity.

As much as I dig Bullock (and I do), I would have given the Oscar to Streep. I would have given Streep the Oscar just from watching the trailer of Julie Julia.

Bullock made a wonderful speech tho. She's sooooooo nice.

She might be nice, but she is not a great actress. She did not deserve the Oscar.

one shouldn't get an Oscar for playing a character much like themselves as SB did. I thought Academy Awards were for superior ACTING ability.

My thoughts exactly...and another thing...there was zero chemistry between Sandra and Tim McGraw. The kisses were so fake, you could tell they were both married to other people in real life.
Meryl, on the other hand, nailed Julia Childs and even managed to make her sexy. Meryl deserved the Oscar.

Love her, love her, You go girl Sandy. Always takes on unconventional roles and not afraid to dumb herself down or glam herself down for a role. Sidibe is in good company and she will get her chance.

Just got the Razzie and the Oscar. I don't believe she deserved the first, but she does deserve the second.

I like Sandra and her movies. Her role in the Blind Side was awesome, but not the best compared to the other nominees. I believed Gabby is more deserving of that award for her role in Precious, but was bypassed because she is a newbie in the industry. Fame instead of performance won the day.

Anyways, Congrats Sandra!

I thought Gabrielle from Precious would have won, but besides enjoying a lot of movies, what do I know about acting?

Sandra is a true lady, classy...a lot of women in Hollywood should take notes. Her speech made me cry.

It wasn't just the academy. Bullock received other awards for this performance as well and one tie with Streep.

I would guess that most people who are critical have not seen the movie.

Her comment on mothers was to praise those who nurture children, including those who are not biologically their own. A NOBLE sentiment expressed about a noble endeavor.

If you have some problem with a comment about parental nurturing, look in the mirror. Are you dumping your kids on someone else, so this is hitting a nerve?

Lots of sour grapes here.

Most of us who have been fans of the Oscars have noticed that often times nominations/wins are all about politics. We know that for certain because both Sandra Bullock and Halle Berry have Oscars. I like them they seem very pleasant however; IMHO they did not deserve to win for their performances.

I'm just guessing and I could be wrong. But I'd bet you haven't even seen The Blind Side.

I disagree with all the naysayers that say she didn't deserve it, for this film she did. It was in her eyes, can't explain it, you'll have to see the film.

I won't offer an opinion on whether Sandra deserved an Oscar until I see here Oscar-winning performance... time to rent it.

I will say that Sandra seemed genuinely touched, and touching, in a moment that validated all that's good with Hollywood. She was more self-effacing than self-indulgent, and that goes far to combat some of the cynical pursuit of celebrity we see from too many other "stars."

Good on ya, Sandra.
