We need to quit blaming Rove, Cheney, and Bush. We are at fault for allowing these three to purposely start two wars and create the economic mess we are suffering now. Being a Conservative is not wrong if you truly believe in the CONSERVATION of American traditions, values, respect for the Constitution, freedom of speech and all of the rest of the Bill of Rights. But to label yourself a conservative and do  Read More...

Let me give you a crash synopsis of what the Rove book is all about .The Bush Mob were wildly successful - in fact they were the most competent administration in American history - and President Obama is undoing all the good work they did. Basically Karl is hoping that the American people will once again exhibit symptoms of the mass amnesia for which they are justly famous.

The revisionist history that is now being peddled by these clowns is astounding in its audacity. They are now trying to sell the fiction that it was the inattention of the Clinton administration that led directly to the hideous attacks of September 11, 2001. What is being conveniently ignored by the revisionists (They "conveniently ignore" a lot of stuff. Did you ever notice that?) is the fact that when Clinton's National Security Adviser Sandy Berger had his first face-to-face interview with Condoleeza Rice during the transition in the winter of 2000, he bluntly told her that al Quida had been that his number one focus ant that it would be her's, too. After the meeting Berger came away with the distinct impression that Dr. Rice didn't even know what the hell al Qaeda was. George W. Bush, you might remember, thought that the Taliban was a rock 'n' roll group. Brilliant bunch, this lot.

Robert Parry at Consortium News has an excellent summary of the many things we were aware of during the lead-up to the Iraq invasion of 2003.

It just proves that Karl Rove's new book is mostly a pack of lies.

Reading the comments, I am reminded of the Noam Chomsky documentary where attendees of Chomsky lectures voice their glowing approval of everything he says to interviewers stationed outside the lecture room. "Chomsky was right on target as usual!" says one. "Vintage Chomsky!" says another. "He really knows how to expose all the lies and corruption!" crows a third. And so on.

i.e., just a bunch of gushing applause, devoid of specific examples. Similar, content-wise, to the condemnation of Rove in many of the comments on this story.

Some might see that as perfect irony, as Rove getting what he deserves since when it comes to spin he's an acknowledged master practitioner. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

But sometimes you have to distinguish policy from spin. On the matter of the Iraq invasion, which was the most radical move by the most radical administration in history, is it not possible to assess that decision on the historical record, without regressing into partisan spin? Rove makes a good point: it wasn't just Bush who accepted the arguments for war. Most of the Democrats did too.

I heard Sarah Palin is frustrated with the inaccuracies in Rove's book.

Thanks to Karl Rove ("Rove admits to an error on Iraq War") for again reminding us that the first casualty of war is truth. He would not be a master of the lie if Americans would do a little fact
checking but I guess it's easier to let conservatives lie & get away with it.

A REPULSIVE CYNIC

Why doesn't Rove mention his evangelical friends and backers preaching Armageddon?
And his culture wars cynically tearing apart the fabric of America to win a few votes?

The man is flabby prison material!

I just heard Karl Rove on Rush's show. It sounds like a compelling book that sets the record straight. It should shed light on the misinformation that the left and liberal medial has been disseminating.

It doesn't matter. The right wing can publish anything it wants without it being true. This has been proven over and over again with Coulter's books.

Expecting to find truth in a Karl Rove book is equivalent to expecting to find science at a Creationist museum.

Strange, he seemed so honest when he was in the White House. Once again America, this is an IQ test and you have not done well recently.

What would you expect to find in this book, the truth? This man is a pathological liar and a sociopath, so would you expect him to write about the truth. I wouldn’t waste my time and money on Mr. T. Blossom’s book of fictitious discourse.

So Karl Rove has been caught "stretching" the truth. What will be the next news shocker to come out? A news report saying birds fly? Fish swim? It's a measure of how our media operates that someone as corrupt as Rove is given any credibility by the MSM. I have this vision of all these right wingers flocking to the bookstores ready to buy Rove's latest attempt at spin. Why do facts not seem to matter to Republicans?
