I was just trying to get ahead and it put me more behind. College is a scam unless you can pay for it or get it for free. Don't be fooled, you don't need a degree to become something better.

Um - no - it is not a scam if you major in something for which you can make a decent pay check - in that case even going into debt (not crazy debt) is MORE than worthwhile.

I went into debt (about $20k) - I attended a community college and then a university - got a degree that allowed me to get a job that pays well - and yeah I had to pay off the debt but once that is done the degree is more than worth it.

Americans are just going to deal with not being an Art History major and may have to major in hard stuff like - Engineering - otherwise - yeah - if you want to be a Music Major and you aren't already a great musician - then it probably isn't worth while going into a lot of debt.
