Wouldn't that be sweet for the Kurds if they were the swing power block in Iraq. Think what they may be able to do with such influence toward their aspirations toward an independent Kurdistan.

Turkey will never allow an independent Kurdistan, but a very, very autonomous Kurdistan within Iraq would be almost as good an outcome. Indeed, an autonomous, free Kurdistan may be the only positive achievement of the otherwise wretched and stupid Iraq war.
