I'd prefer a nice Remington 870 shotgun. The sound of a shotgun round being chambered is usually enough to stop almost any threat.

Smart kid. The operators should use their discretion in each case.
I just watched a movie called "Taken" where the girl was on the phone with her father when the intruders arrived, and he told her to leave the phone free so he could hear what was happening in the background. In the end one of the kidnappers found the phone and the father was able to get clues to who they were, just by their accents and the information his daughter left as they grabbed her to take her away.

Yes, you can hear the men screaming at them in the background.

aww, he sounds so upset. I hope they catch those guys, they have no right to break in and terrorize children (or adults) in their own home.
It will be a long time before this boy and his sister ever feel safe in their own beds again- that's evil!
And yes, it's sad for the parents as well but adults can deal better.

When you're so small, you need to know you're safe in your own house.

These Violent Criminals....UTILIZED "Go o gle Home Invasion Helper"..or..the Useless as a "Map"....."Streets"..."Not a product-product".

Also used.."Arial" and "Maps"...

This is becoming a common trend...as G 00 g le pretends its"Okay" to sneak through neighborhoods taking surrepticious photo's of AS MANY ANGLES of YOUR property as they can...then JUSTIFYING this with the ridiculous "Rationale"..

"its only what can be seen from the street...garsh!..."

Okay...so.....if a Person stands in front of my house..on the "Sidewalk"..looking at every open window..TAKING PHOTO'S...I can call the police...they can charge the Loiterer with several violations...including the MOST OBVIOUS..."LOITERING with INTENT".

"Streets" = "Cyber Loiter/Caser/Surveilance/Stalker......

The inevitable is now becoming the NORM!

Crazed Ex's...Thieves..Rapists..Killers...all now have a "Tool"...to "Case" a Home or Business with literally..ZERO..."Exposure"..this is an ENABLER for Violent Crime! They're ACCESSORIES AFTER THE FACT!

The "product" is NOTHING but a Traffic Generator.."Traffic" IS..the "Product"...

They "Scrub" the "Address"...so whats the POINT?

I CANNOT WAIT to participate in the inevitable CLASS ACTION lawsuit against these invaders of private property rights.

Also...they're beginning to give "Preferential treatment" to the WEALTHY and Celebrities to keep them QUIET...especially after the "Bling Ring" case in L.A. where thieves used the SAME 3 "Products" to steal MILLIONS from MULTIPLE Celebrity homes.

There's NO point for "Streets"..OTHER than Surveillance...and CRIME!

I agree with you, they need to stay away and give people privacy. It's dangerous.

Where's the story? Where did this happen, who what happened to the children - only a fragment of this story has been covered.

I'm relieved that he was the savior of the day most especially the savior of his family. What a sweetie - when I read that he asked 'them to hurry and brings soldiers' too' my heart just melted.

Hugs and kisses to him........................

The "bring soldiers" comment also touched me. He was doing all that he could to get the toughest good guys he could think of to his house. Brave boy!

What a brave little man! This makes me sad, no child should ever have to be in that situation.

That brought tears to my eyes. The terrified screams at the end really made my hair stand up. What I don't like about the situation is that the operator kept making him talk instead of staying quiet once she got the initial info. Idk...I think I might have been to scared to continue speaking after the first few sentences. Brave, brave little kid. He did the right thing.
10:47 AM on 03/10/2010
I think the operator's are trained to get the most information possible to aid the first responders who will be arriving at the scene... with questions like how many people, are they armed etc.... Staying quiet giving them time to trace the call is just not enough... I can't blame them here
10:49 AM on 03/10/2010
Yeah, why did she do that? I would have told them to be extra quiet, but don't hang up?

I'm glad that family is safe and saddened about their trauma. In war, children experience this level of fear over and over and over. It doesn't matter what the fight is about - they just experience scarey men with guns and eventually learn the lesson that the only solution to fear is weapons. There is no alternative for them. Its a sad cycle of violence.

Brave little man. His parents must be very proud of their courageous son. His breathless fear takes my breath away. I hope these suspects get long sentences for causing this family such terror.
