people.com:

Feldman, who appeared on Larry King Live Wednesday night, said Haim was "very destitute, very broke," had no car and few friends.

"At the end of the day, Larry, where were all these people the last 10 years, the last 15 years of Corey's life?" asked Feldman, also 38. "Where were all these people to lend a hand out, to reach out to him and say, you know, you're a legend, you're -- you're an amazingly talented, wonderful person who's really never gone out of his way to hurt anybody other than himself?"

Cut Feldman a break.

Imagine if your best years were 20 years ago.. that at a time when you could appreciate it the least you reached the height of your success. And that you squandered it with bad choices. And once lost it forever was just outside of your grasp. You could see it, smell it, know the people involved, how it works, what it takes..but no matter how hard you try it is forever unobtainable to you no matter how desperately you want and need it. That was the two Corey's fame.

He has lost his idol (MJ), his wife (recent divorce), his money (mostly invested and hit by the economy) and now his best friend.. whose identity was forever tied to his own. And now he has lost him forever. More then likely caused by drugs that at one time he was addicted to as well. This is what could have easily been his death had he not been able to break the cycle. And in death he is seeing his friend trashed, made fun of and further humiliated.

It is probably heartbreaking and scary as hell. He is probably thinking is this going to be the response when I die? Is this all we are worth to them? A punchline?

Give the guy a break.

Poisonous epitaphs dished out periodically.

So Corey Haim died flat broke and a loner? Which leads me to ask this question:

Did CNN pay you do to that Larry King interview?

When a celebrity, be it on the "A" list or the "Z" list is not in the public's attention, either the public
is afflicted with some form of ADD, or the celebrity has fallen far off everyone's radar.

I like how Feldman called out the celebrity pity wagon. Remember Haiti? All these celebrities twitting about just how aweful it was and then brag about donating several hundred thousands of dollars and then challenging their followers to do the same. Thanks madonna, I'm sure the Haitian government could really use your donation, unfortunately I can't match your $200,000, so I'll buy the shiny new "we are the world" claptrap album instead. Consuming for a good cause makes me feel good! Anyway, these stars, a lot of whom probably never even met Haim are using his passing as an excuse to be relevent in the headlines. Yay ego stroking!

Lend a hand out? Please! How exhausting is it to be friends with a drug addict? But, I do feel sorry for Feldman. He lost two good (albeit disturbed) friends over the last few months.

We know that he was asked to be on the Rehab show and would have been paid, so to say that he was alone and broke, that was his decision. I know alot of people in recovery and they have great lives and are happy.

Actuall I saw Dr. Drew, on some talk show, confirming that Corey Haims had been invited to be on Sober House but turned it down,

Notice how Feldman seems to milk these celebrity deaths for the attention: Michael Jackson and now Corey Haim.
01:07 AM on 03/12/2010
Feldman was a major fan or MJ, and could have been Haim's brother. The only thing I NOTICE is that Feldman was very personally affected by the deaths of MJ and Haim. Just because he's famous doesn't automatically make him an opportunist.

feldman is an arrogant as s hole. for some reason he seems to think he's still famous. I can't remember him in anything except for lost boys and the surreal life. I think I hate him actually. huh.

Yeah, I saw Feldman on The Surreal Life and he was a hot mess. He definitely didn't get the memo that he's no longer relevant.

A) Was someone supposed to buy him a car?
B) Legend?

In one breath he'll say that Haim's mother's illness was the "first time he'd grown up," and in the next breath ask where people were who cared about him.

Chances are, they got tired of hanging around with a self-destructive arrested development case.

So what? He died broke. It's not Hollywood obligation to keep him in the lap of luxury or even in a modest lifestyle. If he can't afford it, get out of town. Move back to Canada where the cost of living is less.

Childhood actors from the 1980's like Danny Pintauro (Who's The Boss?), Danny Cooksey (Diff'rent Strokes) didn't turn to drugs and is responsible for his _own_ survival as an adult.

Heck, Mark-Paul Gosselor (Saved By The Bell) actually thrived as an actor doing a stint on NYPD Blue and tried join other failed series.

It's "Say hello to the night" not "salem tonight". The movie took place in California.

He was awesome in 'Silverbullet', one of the few movies that really showed his acting chops being more than a 'teenage heartthrob'.

While it is sad about anyone dying young, a legend is a far stretch for a B list child actor. Feldman asks where were his friends? Where was Feldman, his 'brother'?
01:09 AM on 03/12/2010
How do you conclude that Feldman was no longer a part of Haim's life? Where is your proof of this?

The original story said that the friendship had been strained because of Haim's drug use and Feldman had little to do with him.
