I have to agree with Robert J. Ellsberg: there should be a rush to Costa Rica, but not THAT Rush. I moved to Costa Rica five years ago due to the general decline I saw coming in the United States. Costa Rica has the strongest middle class in Central America, the lowest crime rate, and — most importantly — a history of peace without a military. The health care system is not perfect, but is light years beyond the U.S. For those who are looking for a self-sufficient lifestyle, Costa Rica is still very locally driven where every community is self supporting. Perfect year-round climate, and only 5 hours flight from most U.S. cities. I have started a relocation and tourism business here, so if anyone needs more information, feel free to contact me at http://www.ameuropeservices.com

The best reason Rush should go, UMmmm.... let me see, maybe he won't come back.

There is a tree snake in Costa Rica that attacks itself by jumping on its prey in a death bite that they do not release until the victim is dead. I know just what to do with it.

He can have free health care and all the young boys he could ever lust for.

Why not try to occupy another planet and send Boss Limbaugh to do the deed...and make him stay there?

Because we could void his passport and not let him back in the US?

This will give Rush an opportunity to get treated by Cuban trained doctors in a publicly financed medical system. I bet he likes it better than the American system, where even countries like Bengla Desh try to extend medical care to all. The health care industry benefits from the ignorance of the American people, an ignorance nurtured by the likes of RL. If Americans knew how better other people have it elsewhere on earth, pure envy would drive changes in policy. The mantra, "America is too big to improve," rings hollow, when we learn that Swedes get six weeks paid vacation every year; women get free pre-natal care, and children free medical care to age 21; families get eighteen month paid leave after a child is born; the cost of each child is alleviated with a government stipend of about $100 a month per child; a visit to the doctor costs about $5, whether you have a stubbed toe or a broken leg or need a heart by-pass operation; tests costs nothing. In this instance, Swedes believe in the mantra, "No taxation without compensation." The society as a whole is the insurer of the last resort. And the economy, run on a Keynesian basis is not a "socialist" economy, but a Liberal economy, with private enterprise the engine: Volvo, Saab, Pharmacia, Bofors, to name a few companies. //P

I live part of the year in Costa Rica. I've never had to wait more than a couple of days for an appointment. In an emergency, my friend was treated right away. And that is in Ojochal, the boondocks.

Yes, that is what happens when a health system can perform without the huge burden of liabilty insurance premiums that distort the cost structure of doctors, hospitals, drug companies, etc.
No health reform is possible in the US withou significant tort reform.

After Texas passed tort reform the insurance premiums increased. This allowed the insurance companies to pocket more money in profit. So why do we need tort reform?

Tort reform is a republican talking point. Tort reform does not add enough to the overall cost of healthcare to even matter. The trolls alwways tout two things as the only way out of this mess; tort reform and tax cuts. Both have been tried and both did nothing to lower medical costs. If the MSM would tell the truth intead of staying silent everyone would know this by now.

It's not that anybody really cares that Rush is gay........it's his hippocracy on this as well as how he used to go off on drug users when it turns out that he's a major dopper himself, who only because he's wealthy, is not in jail.
