Inventor of the ABC paywall scheme will be fired and left pounding the streets, looking for other employment by August 31st .....

Fat chance I'll pay ABC to read their news, I don't even tune-in at 6:30 so they can read it to me for FREE.

"About 35 percent of online news consumers said they have a favorite site that they check each day. The others are essentially free agents, the project said. Even among those who have their favorites, only 19 percent said they would be willing to pay for news online – including those who already do.

There's little brand loyalty: 82 percent of people with preferred news sites said they'd look elsewhere if their favorites start demanding payment.".....Go for it ABC

I rarely visit ABC News but I would visit Variety.com almost daily and now that you only get two free articles a month I don't even visit. THR.com or Deadline or basically any other entertainment website has the same news. Newspapers/news sites made the fatal error and there is no turning back now.

I don't go to ABC site, so who cares if they charge.

No biggy. I haven't been to ABC news site in months. It got to where I could not stand to read a thing Jake Tapper put out because frankly, he so often misses the truth threshold

I was going to delete my ABC bookmark but I didn't have one.

This is a good thing. ABC News needs to be behind a wall where no one can see it.

In fact, why not save us all the trouble and just dig a hole. We'll cover it for you.

No kidding. It's like paying to get herpes.

Exactly. What will ABC offer that is of such high value and not available elsewhere that they can sustain a paywall model? Relatively few persons would stick with the ABC news site, but would migrate elsewhere where comparable content is available free of charge.

LOL! I wouldn't visit ABC's site if they were paying me. Their network isn't worth watching either.
