Elisabetta Canalis, George Clooney's Girlfriend, Lands TV Role On 'Leverage'

In America, Elisabetta Canalis is best known as George Clooney's girlfriend. Now, she's about to give audiences in the U.S. a taste of her acting talents.

Canalis, 31, will appear in five episodes of the TNT drama Leverage when the show, starring Timothy Hutton, begins its third season this summer. She will play a mysterious woman simply known as "the Italian."

Sorry, have you watched TV lately? Kate Gosselin is on dancing with the stars! This is only the latest example of absolutely no one being elevated for no reason except a total lack of good qualities.

At least this woman is lovely, stylish and I'm expecting has had a few acting lessons. I'll take her over a nation of octomoms anyday.

I guess you missed the tongue-in-cheek but you're still correct. Untalented and celebrated-for-nothings rewarded with even more fame. I mean Heidi Montag's also landed a cameo in movie featuring Nicole Kidman. Granted it's a cameo but I think even being an extra would be beyond her league. But it's kinda difficult to target her in a society where simply being Tiger's mistress can land you a TV gig.
