Hillary Clinton's BOUFFANT: Terrific Or Time For A Haircut? (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 05/18/2010 5:12 am Updated: 05/25/2011 3:55 pm

Maybe she's been busy helping her daughter plan a wedding, or, you know, being Secretary of State, but it looks like someone is letting her hair grow out! When Hillary Clinton met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov for talks in Moscow on Thursday, she debuted a bouffant (we had previously called it a 'beehive'--thank you, readers!) that's been months in the making. Not since she was first lady has Hillary had locks this long--we even took it upon ourselves to chronicle her hair's ups and downs a while back. See the new 'do below and vote.

Hillary's Beehive:

Terrific.

Time for a haircut!

Have you people noticed you are in the "Style" section? I think Hillary enjoys fashion.

I love you Hillary! She is probably letting it grow out for Chelsea's wedding.

It's okay. Looks like an awkward "I'm growing it out" length. If she is indeed growing her hair long, in this phase she would be well advised to wear it up.

As to all the folks who wonder why this diplomats hair is being discussed: If this was a male secretary of state who wore makeup, earings, patterned suits w/colorful scarfs - and regularly changed the styling of his frosted tresses, believe me, his appearance would be talked about!

Her hair? Really?

I am much more concerned with how Sec. Clinton is doing her job.

Maybe she should have a taxpayer funded fashionista with her at all times to make sure she looks AB FAB and HOT! I wonder if she wears a thong, hmm.... Are her toenails painted? Give me a break - it's amazing we have come as far as we did as women when we are constantly under the microscope and our harshest critics are other women.

Our smile and greet SoS, her hair, her pants suits... the US needs a skilled, respected diplomat in this job, not Hillary reprise of her first lady job.

The Secretary of State has hair? I hadn't noticed. I was too busy listening to what she said.

Did you see what Gary Locke had on last night? Let's have a poll to see if people think he looks better in gray or navy suits.

Whatever... I really liked her hair toward the end of the primary. It was very flattering & easy to take care of.

I don't remember all this talk about Madeleine Albright's haircut. Stop talking about her hair already!

you're right.... everyone talked about Madeleine's brooches, and Condi's shoes, and Nancy's armani suits... and Hillary's hair and pant suits. None of them really demonstrate(d) world class leadership. And the three female Secretaries of State, have all been warmongers.

Well... didn't Condi buy her shoes the week of 9/11, or something? It wasn't really a fashion story...

This is how chauvinists (both male and female) demean and belittle women. By reducing women to their parts: hair, shoes, clothing, breasts, etc.
09:47 AM on 03/19/2010
For goodness sake! The woman is Secretary of State! She would have and should have been president if not this kind of treatment by the press!!
10:38 AM on 03/19/2010
No, dear. She MIGHT have been the president had she been a better candidate. She wasn't. And it had nothing to do with her hair, clothes, or any mistreatment by the press. Let's get it straight.
01:27 PM on 03/19/2010
Knock off the condescending "dear". You are a prime example of the sexism that is rampant in this country. Also, how do you know whether I am male or female? Are you in the habit of calling males "dear"?
12:42 AM on 03/20/2010
Yes. Only the best candidates get awarded a bunch of their opponents' delegates.

The press called her inevitable and she had more advantages than any candidate in history -- a huge campaign warchest, a hand picked "dream team" of highly experienced staff and advisors, a vast, organized political machine that reached into very precinct in the nation, universal name recognition, and a popular former president campaigning for her full time in a Democratic primary. She lost because most Americans did not think she was honest and trustworthy (Gallup poll 59% April 2008), she had voted for the Iraq War, and she COULD NOT LEAD. Her campaign fell into message fog, resume distortions, staff warfare, deep debt, Bill, and Rove style tactics. That's why America said no thanks to Hillary as president.
06:43 AM on 03/21/2010
Fanned. Hillary lost due to poorly managing her campaign and because of her long history of playing fast and loose with the truth.
09:17 AM on 03/19/2010
Really sexist. Why not comments of this nature on men.
Grow up America.

oh please. There are many stories about men and appearence.... but no cares. Many women, it seems, are obsessed with appearence -- their own and that of other women. What percentage of dept stores are devoted to women vs. men?

Hillary herself talks about her hair CONSTANTLY. Maybe if she would stop and focus on substance, the stories would too.

Thttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/huff-wires/20100314/us-women-s-conference/
he [Women of the World: Stories and Solutions] conference opened Friday evening with remarks by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, who brought her daughter, Chelsea, along. The audience watched a clip of Clinton, as first lady, making her famous remarks at the 1995 U.N. women's conference in Beijing, where she declared that "Women's rights are human rights."
Clinton quipped that those remarks came "15 years and many hairstyles ago." Progress had been made, she joked, on both fronts.

No female will ever get elected hiding behind the sexist card. Yes, any man that shows up poorly groomed with bad hair (Donald Trump comes to mind) receives the same critique. For the most part, male politician's clothes are boring and look just like every other male politician so they receive little comment. As Obama's hair has increasingly greyed, there has been considerable comment.
09:14 AM on 03/19/2010
Pretty disgusting that this is even a topic of discussion, considering what a great job she is doing. I've never heard the media talk about men's grooming.

Terrific job. Let's see. First she gets in a hillbilly spitting contest with N. Korea while we still are trying to secure the release of two journalists Nest she takes Hillary the B*tch to Africa and attacks a student for asking what would have been an innocent question even if the translator got it right because of her own weak ego strength. Russia refuses to deal with her. She goes to Pakistan and once again gets into arguments with students. She goes on to Israel and that time Hillary undermined our efforts at peace talks by sanctioning the settlements. Then there was the Xmas day bomber whose Visa would have been pulled if the State Dept had made an error. The most destructive of her efforts was going to Haiti for a photo op causing Americare's plane filled with life saving medication to be turned back for the second time and the portable hospital that was so badly needed to be diverted to the D. R. Hillary was strongly criticised by the International community for her Diva behavior in Haiti. Now what exactly is it that she has accomplished as SOS?
