But not if you have a PowerPC-based Mac.

Part of my e-mail to Amazon: "Kindle for Mac can be used on any Apple Macintosh computer running Mac OS 10.5 or higher. Kindle for Mac is not compatible with Power PCs." These two sentences, the second of which was NOT in the e-mail I received informing me that "Kindle for Mac" was available, contradict one another. A Power PC running OS 10.5.8, which is what I have, is included in the category "any Apple Macintosh computer running Mac OS 10.5 or higher." So in other words, your content is still not available for those of limited income, who don't necessarily have the latest and greatest computers.

I now own an e-reader put out by one of your competitors, who:
1) Released the e-reader software BEFORE the device;
2) Released software for the Mac (INCLUDING the PowerPC) and PC simultaneously; and
3) Also allows me to download books from the library, which I understand the Kindle does not.

It was released last night and I downloaded/installed it on my Mac Pro. Works pretty good, but there is some room for improvement. What is cool is that any book, that would be better seen on a Kindle DX, looks great in this program.
