Israeli Rockets Injure 12 At Gaza Airport, Hamas Says

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip — Hamas officials say Israeli aircraft have fired five missiles at Gaza's defunct airport and nearby border tunnels, wounding at least 12 people.

The Israeli military confirmed Friday's airstrikes, saying they targeted militant activities in response to recent rocket fire from Gaza.

The missile strikes come a day after rocket fire from Gaza killed a Thai worker on an Israeli communal farm near the Gaza border. Israel has said it holds Gaza's Hamas rulers responsible even though Hamas opponents said they fired the rocket.

Friday's missiles hit the defunct international airport in southern Gaza and tunnels dug by militants near the border with Israel. On Thursday, Israeli missiles hit smuggling tunnels and a metal workshop in Gaza.

At this moment, two teenage boys, aged 16 and 18 are being buried in a small Palestinian village. They were among a crowd of people trying to protect their village, population 1100, from attacks by settlers from illegal hilltop settlements which are expanding around them..
Their crime was to throw stones at fully armed and protected Israeli soldiers who invaded their village instead of offering them protection from these attacks.
Where are the howls of outrage about these murders?
Two more Palestinians have been shot dead this morning.

If they were throwing rocks at Israeli soldiers, they are ATTACKING the soldiers. Therefore, the soldiers defending themselves can in no way be considered murder. If the boys had stayed home, they would be alive right now. I'm not happy that they are dead, but to call their deaths murder is intentionally misleading.

I NEVER ever denied the Holocaust. What I said is basically what people like Avrum Burg and Norman Finkelstein both said many times. That using the Holocaust to somehow excuse what is being done to the Palestinians, or using it as a cover for justifying inhumane policies against Palestinians is wrong. Using that tragic event from the past to gain sympathy today, when our sympathy should be with the Palestinians who TODAY are suffering, is wrong. This is what I was saying.

When Hamas calls a truce, it becomes a PR nightmare for Israel to continue punishing a civilian population. When Hamas fires NO rockets, how do you FRAME Hamas so that they get blamed for rockets and Israel has an excuse to keep Gaza under lock and key? If only the Palestinians would have an Intifadah and a "Day of Rage" against their jihadist movements, the evil Hamas 'leadership' they voted into office, and the double-tongued Fatah, then perhaps they could get busy creating decent lives and hope for themselves. Since violence hasn't worked so well, perhaps it's time to nail Israel on the best possible deal the Palestinians can expect, take it and start CREATING a viable future for themselves, perhaps in association with the Kingdom of Jordan (already over 65% Palestinian and the major part of British Mandatory Palestine)? The initial israeli attack on the liberty was a strafing run with machine guns. That is not how you attack an armored warship if the attack is planned.
