Phil Spector Assaulted In Prison: Report

Has Phil Spector gotten a bloody taste of jail-yard justice? The hot-tempered music legend is minding his tongue after having several teeth knocked out by a fellow inmate at the state prison in Corcoran, Calif., two Spector confidants tell us.

"Phil has quite a mouth on him," says longtime pal and defender Steven Escobar. "Not everyone understands his humor. He said the wrong thing to the wrong inmate in the yard."

Lacking any of his trusty firearms, Spector wound up with a bruised nose, black eye and the loss of a couple of caps, according to Escobar.

Given his history, he may not survive if he is kept in the general population. Without his bodyguard or gun, being a little old man might be a bit dicey for him. Of course Charles Manson had someone set him on fire a while back, so Phil might want solitary.

THIS CASE CONFUSES ME. HE TOOK A "B" MOVIE ACTRESS OUT ON A DATE (SHE HOPED HE WOULD HELP HER GET BETTER MOVIE ROLES, BUT HE IS A RECORD PRODUCER.).

SHE WANTS TO GO TO HIS HOUSE. THEY ARE BOTH DRUNK. HE SUPPOSEDLY KILLS HER WITH HER GUN? (SHE WAS A TALL, WELL-TONED WOMAN. HE IS AN OLD MAN.)

DOES NOT MAKE SENSE.
