Terry Richardson: 'I've Always Been Considerate Of The People I Photograph'

Terry Richardson has responded to recent allegations of "predatory behavior" by industry insiders, supermodel Rie Rasmussen and model Jamie Peck. He posted this message on his blog on Saturday:

I just want to take a moment to say I'm really hurt by the recent and false allegations of insensitivity and misconduct. I feel fortunate to work with so many extraordinary people each and every day. I've always been considerate and respectful of the people I photograph and I view what I do as a real collaboration between myself and the people in front of the camera. To everyone who has embraced and supported me and my work, I am so grateful. Thank you, it means a lot.

The Pirelli Calendar looks great. I didn't find it degrading to women at all. I think Terry Richardson's presentation and theme was nice.

Straight men have an interest in the women of fashion. I am devoted to the admiration of females.

Rie Rasmussen is just a very sexy and powerful woman. I don't blame Terry Richardson for bugging out because the wrath of a woman, especially in public setting, can harvest a man's ego in a most devastating way.

These women all look stunningly beautiful, but the poses are more overtly sexual than the runway modelling. Well, women and men of refined tastes can enjoy the fashion shows, and men with less refined taste can also enjoy things like this Pirelli Calendar, as well as Love magazine - these are great for all kinds of people who love to gaze at females.

It should be considered a good thing that the female can fascinate males even after all intellectual pursuits, politics, philosophy, theology, religion, have all ceased to amuse a man, he can still gaze at a beautiful woman and be calm, serene, and rapt with the mere vision of her.

It's obvious that Richardson and McGee and James and Woods are all in on this conspiracy together.

What conspiracy?

Do things sexual with other humans, allow yourself to be exposed in said sexual activity, and eliminate all PR bills from PR reps/agencies for at least six months 'cause twits like us will give them inflated PR for weeks on end - for free - commenting and spreading more hazardous waste on the topic/subject. You know, like Gawker Media did last night with its BREAKING news that TMZ would soon exhibit a photo taken TWO YEARS AGO of Jesse James in an SS Uniform cap.

You know....the people like Woods, Richardson, James, et al aren't the "bad", or "sick" ones. We are. We vultures who circle the celebrities and nourish our empty lives on these things which have no direct meaningful effect on our existence. This stuff is like junk food in print form.

I'm amazed how violently so many tens of thousands - hundreds of thousands of Americans - go after the consumption of this meaningless waste. It's sad.

Reminds me of the old Saturday Night Live skit with William Shatner, playing himself, at a Star Trek convention. The audience is full of grown men and women dressed in Star Trek costumes, wigs and pointy Spock ears, and Shatner looks at them, and says, "Look at you people! Get a life!"
