Is parading elephants through Manhattan streets enough to capture your attention? Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus hopes so.

Keeping up an old custom of theirs the circus company paraded elephants through midtown Manhattan to herald the upcoming circus tour. Six Asian elephants walked the streets from Queens, through the Midtown Tunnel to Madison Square Garden along 34th Street from 11:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Despite the lateness of the hour and the rain, New Yorkers came out to watch the spectacle.

newyorkers have no room to talk about the abuse of elephants as long as they allow the abuse of horses pulling carriages full of tourists.

The owners and trainers should be beat the way they beat these elephants. And then send them to jail for violence and kidnapping of all the wild animals they abuse in the circus.

Have you seen the recently released photos taken by a Ringling Bros. whistleblower of baby elephants tied up and electro-shocked by Ringling trainers? If not, check them out. After you do, you'll understand why we're inviting you to come out and stand up for animals at a demonstration protesting the arrival of Ringling in New York City.

Thanks to a few trendsetting cities that are just brimming with compassionate people—cities like New York—widely attended and exciting opening-night demonstrations are fast becoming a cruelty-free tradition everywhere. So let's keep up the good work, NYC! We wouldn't want the circus to think that it was welcome all of a sudden, would we?

Opening-night demonstration against Ringling's cruelty
When: Thursday, March 25, 6:30–7:30 p.m.
Where: Madison Square Garden, 4 Pennsylvania Plaza, New York—intersection of 7th Avenue and 34th Street

Your presence will make a world of difference to the frightened baby elephants who scream, cry, and struggle during Ringling training sessions as they are stretched out, slammed to the ground, struck with bullhooks, and shocked with electric prods. Please bring friends and family members—heck, invite strangers on the street!

Sad sight to see these magnificent beasts still being exploited and living under the brutal regime of Ringling. An employee just recently released a video of baby elephants being beaten by Ringling "trainers." Protests all week across from the circus.

Anybody who brings their children to witness this travesty is teaching them cruelty.

Not funny. Elephants' dung don't belong in the streets.
