Colo. Division Of Insurance Has 7 Staffers Who Review 14,000 Filings

Seven employees at the Colorado Division of Insurance are responsible for reviewing more than 14,000 filings a year from insurance carriers offering coverage on everything from health and life policies to property and casualty plans.

Since January, the 300-plus providers of health insurance alone have filed more than 800 change requests with the state. All of those companies usually want more money from consumers - and most times, they get it.
