Sarah Palin's PAC Puts Gun Sights On Democrats She's Targeting In 2010

Sarah Palin is targeting -- yes, with gun sights -- House Democrats facing tough reelection fights who voted for health care reform.

Palin's Facebook page now carries a map featuring 20 gun sights, one for each of the Democrats targeted this year by her political action committee SarahPAC. Three of the gun sights, those where incumbent Democrats have already announced their retirement, are colored red.

Likewise, Palin's rhetoric is decidedly militant. "We'll aim for these races and many others," she wrote on her Facebook page. "This is just the first salvo in a fight to elect people across the nation who will bring common sense to Washington. Please go to sarahpac.com and join me in the fight."

I know several of these Congress people, one is a personal friend. They are among the hardest working in Congress.....Palin doesn't understand what an honest days work is, because she does not work honestly!

When I first saw this poster with the 'gun sights' on it, something didn't sit right with me. I've been around guns since I was a kid, and I just didn't see 'gun sight' when I first saw the symbol.

It didn't dawn on me until last night when I was cleaning up some stuff from my desk and I ran across a welcome packet I received a while back from Southern Poverty Law Center after I had joined their org. In the packet is a map of hate groups and in one of the sidebars, there is an area discussing different hate groups.

My mouth fell open when I looked at it THIS time. Right there, in the section on white nationalists was the 'gun sight'. It's the logo for Stormfront!

I'd never seen this logo before I saw it on the SPLC map. I did a quick search at http://images.google.com/ on the terms 'white nationalist' and found out the 'gun sight' is the logo for Stormfront, a white supremacist site and forum. Look for yourself. Search Google images on the terms 'stormfront logo'.

Further thoughts:

Anyone who has ever looked through a rifle scope knows the cross hairs of the scope do NOT extend beyond the circle of the scope. It's basically a plus sign inside of a circle. The symbols used on the Palin's map are very clearly an over-sized plus sign on top of a circle.

Granted the circle used is not a line circle like the Stormfront logo, but the image is still disturbingly similar.

Haven't checked it out yet...my guess is the image was deliberately 'distorted' in hopes that they could say 'See its not Stormfront'.
