The US engineering giant General Electric (GE) today announced plans to build an offshore wind turbine manufacturing plant in the UK, creating up to 2,000 jobs.

Let's hope there isn't any "Royalty" living on the coasts where they plan to build these things. You wouldn't want these "eyesores" ruining their view.

Wind power has already proven that it is cost-competitive over a 20-year time period with coal, natural gas, and oil for electricity production, without the pollution problems.

No it hasn't not even close. Wind requires so much low efficiency natural gas to load balance that it would be better to to built high efficiency gas in the first place and skip the wind altogether.
