Netflix recently promised that it would make streaming content available via Nintendo Wii this Spring. Well, it looks like it's happening. Now.
The official Netflix blog confirmed it yesterday, March 25:
We are in the final phase of getting ready for the launch of streaming to Wii. Today, we shipped out instant streaming discs for the Wii to some of our Netflix members.
The red envelopes are already in the mail, and in a couple days, a few of those who reserved the discs will get to test the new service.
Netflix is eager to follow Xbox 360 and PS3 into this new territory and has made it easy for anyone with a Wii, a Netflix account, and a broadband internet connection to participate.
Netflix will poll customers who receive the preliminary streaming discs to 'help the company fine-tune the experience,' Mashable reports.
