Obama's Bracket Flubs The Final Four

Obamas Bracket Final Four

03/28/10 09:40 PM ET   AP

NEW YORK — With his men's bracket a bust, the president still has some hope in the women's NCAA tournament.

President Barack Obama has three of his Final Four teams remaining in the women's bracket, including Connecticut, which beat Iowa State 74-36 on Sunday for its 75th straight win. He also has Stanford and Nebraska left.

Obama didn't have either Florida State or Mississippi State in the other early game Sunday, having picked both to lose earlier in the tournament. The First Fan's bracket ranked 124,178th on ESPN.com's leaderboard, better than just 34.8 percent of users.

After his last two men's teams – Kentucky and Kansas State – were eliminated Saturday, Obama's men's bracket was at 2,111,104th, better than 55.8 percent of ESPN online ballots.

What did you expect. It's an Obama trend. Can't figure out how to revive economy, can't figure out final four. Expect more of the same for the next 3 years. We are definitely in deep s..t.

Aside from this bracket implosion, Prez O. has had a pretty good week.

Every year, I pick Duke to win. This year, I decided not to fall into that trap again. Duke is now the only #1 seeded team left. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG~!!~

FANNED for commiseration purposes. :-)

Me too.

I took Duke to the semis, but NOT the finals.

We deserve what comes to us kuhler.

WE LOST THE FAITH.

NEVER AGAIN! Go BLUE DEVILS!

"The president's bracket is a bust.'

I think you can probably say that about everyone's brackets. Go Michigan State!

Has anyone else noticed the poor officiating in the Sweet and Elite 8 games. It has happened in several and affected the outcome a couple times.
01:24 AM on 03/29/2010
You mean the poor officiating in any game in which Duke is involved?

That phantom foul on Lance Thomas' put back dunk near the end of the game tonight. It was already pretty much decided, but c'mon. He gets an easy put back dunk and the foul is called for NOTHING. No contact. None.

Just like everybody else.........

Proving once again that my President is more like me than not. :D :D

He's done better than 75 percent of ESPN fans, who presumably have much more time to follow college basketball. I'm sorry if that's not good enough for you.

I haven't read all of the posts but it seems obvious to me that it was Barack's choice to become a White Sox fan (as opposed to that other team, uhhh the ... Cubs) that was the fundamental flaw in his basketball hoop bracket's strategy. Being a Cub fan requires a certain sensitivity to the ebbs and flows of all games. Aside from that, I can only offer the fact that he did not choose to make Gary, Indiana his home. But, as my friend Jonathon Winters said, "We learn by doing".
