Patriot Majority PAC Going After Tea Party Candidates

Patriot Majority

First Posted: 05/29/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 05:00 PM ET

Patriot Majority PAC, a group created last year by Democratic Party strategist Craig Varoga, has a new mission -- make sure the U.S. House and Senate stay Tea Party free.

"Americans need to confront the dangerous ideas of the tea party movement head on, without any fear, before they gain any additional traction in the legislative process or the 2010 elections," Varoga told the Washington Post's Chris Cillizza.

Varoga's PAC hopes to combat the influence of the Tea Party by targeting 12 to 15 races involving candidates from the conservative movement and launching an independent counter-attack of television, radio and online ads, according to Cillizza.

As the electoral battles go forward, Varoga also hopes to establish Patriot Majority PAC as an archive of negative information on the Tea Party movement. In a tweet on Monday, the PAC asked "Citizens Across US to Help Monitor Violence."

"Patriot Majority PAC does not coordinate with candidates. Patriot Majority PAC may not make any disbursements in cooperation, coordination, or consultation with or at the request of a campaign committee, caucus campaign committee, or party committee," the group's website says.

Every day it's the same old, tired mantra from the ignorant Teabaggers

they REFUSE to learn:
1. "W" grew government more than any other president in the history of this country. Reagan held the record of GROWING government before "W" entered office.

2. "W" tookover & bailed out the banks via Executive Order in March 2008

3. "W" tookover & bailed out GM & Chrysler via Executive Order on Dec. 19, 2008

4. "W" wiretapped innocent Americans

5. "W" ignored August 6, 2001 Presidential Daily Briefing titled: "Bin Laden DETERMINED to strike America" - (pssst including highjacking planes etc)
-- All because he was on a MONTH LONG vacation after only being in office 7 months.

6. "W" & ChainE are both warcriminals - they both violated: US Constitution, Treaties ratified by US, International laws & Federal laws

Seriously ... where the UFCK were the teabagging phony-patriots when "W" was in office?

Duh, W wasn't an 'uppity' democrat.
11:07 PM on 04/02/2010
I don't think W could have done that without the approval of congress and senate. Wasn't Barry a member of the senate then? Oh, that's right, he always voted present. No backbone then and none now!!! Typical DemoncRAT

bleep, You are insulting menopausal women. All of the menopausal women I know voted for Hillary and got over it because they are mature inlelligent adults. They would take a hot flash instead of pms anyday.

It's the pms, post-partum n.u.t j.o.b.s who can't wait to get away from their kids and out of work husbands ( thats if they have husbands) who are following Palin. They are just like Palin.

Dana Loesch mention on Larry King, we want America back! Back to where it was in the 40's and 50's. The group of people who were given a PASS were White Men!

Blacks/Mexicans/American Indians/other races/Jews and women were given a much harder time. Women had no voice, couldn't own property and most stayed home as housewifes and drank, until their demaning husbands came home and abuse the family. No entertaiment except for going to a movie and listening to the radio. Some homes didn't even have a TV or phone. Those were the good old days?

life was wonderful for many Americans during that period, in ways you seem not to grasp. Granted, is was not great for everyone but you paint it as the dark ages, which for many, it was not. you think life sucked them bcuz there was no ipods or video games ? no internet ? my mother owned her own home in the 50's and she did not stay home and drink, her husband was not demeaning and did not abuse the family - you sense of our social history is based on cliches, which while true for some, were surely not true for all.

Spoken like a true WASP no doubt. Your mother was one of the vanguard, but also one of a very small minority. Who cares about electronics advances? That is not the true measure of the advances of an equal society. I remember how minorities were treated then, I had eyes. No, it had some great things, but equality was not one of them and the wish those times back is like putting blinders on.

ZenCrusader: You can't miss something you've never had. ipods, video games weren't even in anyone's radar. I'm glad you had an enviorment that gave you a sense of peace and fulfilment. Many did not. My sense of social history is not base on cliches (as you say) but from history, documentaries, reading and watching history being unfolding in front of me.
Yes, times were different, however we learned a lot by listening and talking with one another and gave the adults the upmost respect. Today, children and young adults engage in the ipods, texting, video games for the most part and lack in social and motor skills. Techologist has made our lives less complexes and using it carelessly has caused more accidents and death.

"Americans need to confront the dangerous ideas of the tea party movement head on, without any fear, before they gain any additional traction in the legislative process or the 2010 elections,"

Ya... Small government and cutting spending could be very dangerous for America. It may just give us more freedoms and a balanced budget. Perish the thought.
I'm sorry but when I think of a Progressive, the word Patriot doesn't come to mind.

Small government? Do your homework and you will find that the Republicans grew government leaps and bounds during the Bush years. Ignorance is NOT blissful.

Deregulation is what led to the financial crisis. Deregulation is part of the small government mindset. Oh yeah, those banks and financial institutions were able to police themselves. And they came close to putting the world economy in the toilet.

So there is a difference between a TBagger, a Patriot and a Republican? If so I wonder which one Sarah Palin falls under.

I wish Sarah Palin would fall under something, preferably a bus.

Tea party candidates are not the problem. They are more likely to split off support from Republicans than they are to actually win elections. The "movement" is a problem because it stirs up hatred and encourages ignorance and even violence. Maybe Varoga is trying to stop the movement by stopping the candidates. I hope it helps, but I really don't think electing tea party candidates is the primary focus for most tea partiers.

The Democratic party is at least willing to try something. It may not be perfect but it at least has a chance of working. The TB solution to the economic crisis would have put us all out of work and taken this great country down the path toward 3rd world status. Does the former Soviet Union ring any bells.

Let the Tea Baggers put up their own candidates. That's what the GOP fears, they know that will take away from their base. It's a blessing for the Demcrats and progressive independents. It makes it that much easier to keep control of congress and advance their agenda of change.
11:47 AM on 03/30/2010
The majority of Americans are not part of the "tea party".

Fox had to use fake footage combined from 2 separate events to bias and slant a story making the group appear larger at a protest than it actually was.

If you look at the total population numbers of Americans and compare it to the percentage of the "tea party" they are not only far from an American majority but they are a very small group comparatively and they already have been taken over by extremists within their own small group.

The media hype has been slanted in the direction of this hoopla and they ignore the "silent majority" once again who supported health care and wrote letters, called, and e:mailed their representatives urging them to pass the bill. The majority won, not the "tea party.

The majority of Americans don't have that much hatred and don't believe that just because you are the loudest doesn't make you right on the issues.

They just shout and complain, they can't say which party they support or which party is funding or supporting them and they offer no solutions.

The majority of Americans voted against the 8 years of failed GOP policies under Bush and wanted change, it is happening and they can be part of the solution or part of the problem and it seems the "tea party" only wants to become a problem for everyone.

I completely agree. I just wish the MSM showed the same common sense. By the way they cover the tea party rallies, you'd think it was the second coming.
11:34 AM on 03/30/2010
Dick Cheney's people are also trying to take out "tea party" candidates. This would seem to prove that not everyone embraced by the tea party has been paid for by the GOP establishment. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0310/34582.html#ixzz0iYRXbUgK

Neo-cons like Cheney have long feared the populist edge to such movements, as it resurrects for them spectres of a resurgence of paleo-conservatism within the party.
11:49 AM on 03/30/2010
It would also resurrect the spectre of his being tried for war crimes - which the alleged "left" have chosen to ignore.
