Sarkozys Make Out In New York (PHOTOS, POLL)

L'amour is in the air! Setting aside rumors of marital strife amid cheating allegations, France's first couple got awfully cozy at New York's Boat House restaurant in Central Park on Sunday. With them was Sarkozy's and ex-wife Cecilia Attias' 12-year-old son, Louis, and his friend (who we previously and mistakenly suggested may be Carla Bruni's 9-year-old son). Pictures below.

Here is a bit of background of those interested in the personal affairs of the big and the powerful: Sarkozy lost it when Cecilia (ex-wife) had an affair with Attias, who is now her husband. When he started dating Carla, he took a trip with her to Jordania (Petra site) where Cecilia and her lover had gone on a trip a few months before. Then he offered Carla the same ring he had offered Cecilia.
No, that is no kidding.
Now, he kisses Carla in front of Cecilia, which is not really what the French do, unless they are bent on hurting someone else's feeling.
Heads of state here do what they want with their private life, including cheat of their wives (which is something they pretty much all did) as long as they don't give us morality lessons, which they carefully avoid doing, or they know they are up for merciless retaliation.
Basically, kissing Carla in public and in public view just shows how vulgar Sarkozy is.

Now that they're stuck with each other they have to sell the constant romantic angle that justifies his divorce and furthers Carla's image as the sex pot who won the president of France's devotion....story to be continued later. It will probably be serialized by PBS in 40 years via the video chip implanted in our brains for instant viewing. Just kidding. Or am I?!

Am I the only one who seems to think they spend an awful lot of time in the USA unofficially? I have no problem with that, but it seems like every couple of weeks I see pics of them somewhere in the US. It strikes me as unusual, what with France not exactly being right next door and Sarkozy being the head of state and all.

Can you imagine the right-wing hysterics if Obama left the country that often? They have conniptions when he just goes to NYC! Then again, they have conniptions when he just breathes.

We don't consider our President going abroad a form of treason. Does what he wants as long as he does the job he was elected to do.
His son lives in the US.
He lost the regional elections big time. No relationship at all to his trips abroad.

There's always a reason, UN meeting, this time a meeting with Obama, but even for holidays French presidents don't ruffle feathers when they go abroad, it's expected that they'd would like to get away from the job, American jingoism is typically american

They love each other and they enjoy being together. It shows in a thousand ways and it warms my heart to catch glimpses. He always looks like he's melting when he's near her. We should all be so lucky. Bless their hearts. It's wonderful that we have love in the world. The more the better.
