'Daily Show' Mocks All-White Basketball League (VIDEO)

In January, basketball fans were greeted with the shocking news that a man sought to create a whites-only basketball league. The outrageous plan elicited a loud public reaction, with Charles Barkley calling the league "blatantly racist." The league's commissioner, Don "Moose" Lewis, eventually admitted that the league promotes segregation and simultaneously proposed a whites-vs.-blacks game called "snowball vs. bro ball."

The league, which has yet to actually set up shop anywhere, escaped media attention during much of the following months, but it's back in the spotlight thanks to "The Daily Show." Scroll down to see Jason Jones speak with the league's commissioner, who continues to defend the league.

Frederick Douglass, a former slave was nominated by the Republican party for president in 1888. Nearly 80 years of Jim Crow followed that event.

Proof positive that racism isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Black president or not.

The racial element of this stupidity is only half of the ridiculousness. Not only is this guy against black players, but foreign-born white players, too.

It's so typical of this type of victim to be upset that there's nobody that looks like him as he observes the sports landscape. The problem isn't race or nationality, "Moose", it's that you're short and out of shape!!!

The truth is that plenty of guys that look like "Moose' play on Sundays. ESPN cuts to bowling right after their NFL coverage!!!

Being a white guy, I was scarred for life when I didn't make the varsity squad because I was beaten out by a better white guy. I have considered creating an all "crappy," basketball league. You don't have to be white or black to play in my league. Just crappy! Understand me though, it has nothing to do with being prejudiced against good players.

JUst so everyone knows, there are plenty of all white b-ball leagues They mostly play at YMCAs throughout the south and midwest. There are, however, no professional, whites only, b-ball leagues. ON the other hand there's golf , tennis, hockey, curling, swimming and water polo. And, riding the luge without a helmet.

Seeing the segment makes me think this guy just thinks its funny, which it is in a "I'm embarrassed to laugh" sort of way. Chelsea Handler has the best line on it. She says something like "so I heard someone is setting up an all white basketball league. so far the score is zero to zero.?
