Lisa Connell, Woman Dying Of Brain Tumor, Auctions Off Dates For Cancer Charities

Posted: Updated:

In 2006, London resident Lisa Connell was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Now, four years later, Connell still has no idea when her deadly disease will claim her life, whether it's a matter of months or years.

The courageous 30-year-old has turned her personal pain into an inventive way to raise money for charity. Connell has started, a website on which potential suitors can bid to take her out on a date. The funds she raises are donated to brain cancer charities in the U.K. So far, Connell has been on 30 fundraising dates and raised over $27,000.

The ultimate goal is to raise one million pounds. Sixty percent of the date proceeds currently go to brain cancer research; the rest is used for administrative costs.
