Santonio Holmes To Fan: Kill Yourself

Santonio Holmes is being sued for allegedly assaulting a woman at a Florida nightclub. The Steelers are "disappointed" by the incident, and his accuser has an online trail.

Given the circumstances, one might expect the former Super Bowl MVP to behave with caution. But as ProFootballTalk noted, he has decided to chart his own course instead. Yesterday, the alleged assault perpetrator told a follower on Twitter (and self-described Steelers fan) that he "shud try finding the worst thing that you could drink n kill urself." The tweet has not yet been deleted, and a screenshot is included below.

Exactly. This lady seems to want a payday. That seems to be the routine: Engage in questionable behavior with a celebrity (in her case, possibly provoking a conflict at a club). Cash out. Make money without having to use your brain.

WOW 2 PEOPLE IN A MILLION YEARS....seems other fans just looking for a reason to determine the Steelers fate and they haven't even played a game yet. Ben and Santonio are not the Pittbbrugh Steeelers...there is something called a 53 man roster.

"kill urself" is just a generic internet putdown. if u searched all the comments on this site today u'll probably find it at least a couple of times in response to some tr0llish remark. its just an update of that timeless classic : "drop dead". really - if u take that sorta thing seriously, please do the gene pool a favor - kill urself.

Hmmmm, does anybody on here try to read between the lines. There is a police report of the incident in which she recanted her first statement, changing the suspect to a woman. Police also observed her as she requested a private minute with Holmes in which she rubbed on his arms, neck, and face. This was after she alleged he cut her with the glass. Public records, ain't it grand?

Oh so terrible. The fact that a defendent in a civil lawsuit is angered and frustrated for having to spend perhaps 10s of 1000s of dollars against what he perceives is frivolous and he publicly voices this is not news. Most millionaires just vent their frustration in private, like at the country club or on a yacht. This fellow's mistake is venting his frustration on a public internet forum. If you are someone who sifts through garbage looking for a dime, then perhaps you consider this 'newsworthy'.

Between Ben's issues and now Santonio's issues, this is a tough time to be a Steeler fan. But my support for the team has nothing to do with the individual players: it's about maintaining loyalty to my hometown. And I have to say, Pittsburgh deserves better than this...
