I think she tries to look too sexy. I like the dress, but it doesn't fit very well, and I imagine that it really accentuates her derriere which is certainly unattractive. She has a habit of wearing inappropriate clothing, especially when she wore a tank top with a full short skirt which makes her look dumpy,and a sweater, when she met the Queen. It looked exactly like my attire when I go shopping at the grocery!Another time she wore a peach dress and coat when she arrived in Russia??? that looked like she had just stepped out of the bedroom. She also frequently wears dresses which make her look like she's pregnant, especially with those belts so high under her bustline. Someone said that they were in style at the time , but who cares when they make you look frumpy or pregnant!.It's nice that she wears JCrew when it's appropriate since it seems to be more casual. I can't imagine that Vanity Fair has listed her as one of the best dressed!

Vanity Fair has listed her as one of the best dressed and Michelle's derriere isn't any bigger than Laura Bush's or Hillary Clintons. Michelle's body is clearly awesome and looks very sexy. Anyone who can look at this woman's body and talk trash about it has to be a fatty.

That horozontal seam totally flattens her bust and it's only because it's just a little too high. The expanse below just accentuates her tummy, but it's the misplacement of that seam that really makes the dress look ill-fitting. This is the difference between couture and off-the-rack clothing. Although I admire Ms. Obama's willingness to wear off-the-rack clothing (J Crew etc.), she should have it modified if necessary. That should just be one of the 'perks' of the job ;-) Everyone wants the First Lady to look her best. It just makes you feel proud when she hits a home run in the style department. With just a little tweaking, this could've been one of those times.

I've noticed many outfits MO wears seem to have misplaced lines. I know she is a tall woman (often, during the campaign she wore flats so as not to appear taller than her husband,) and it seems her dresses have the waist too high making her look all waist and hip but no torso.

Given that she is "leggy" I would think her outfits would sit lower in the middle to give a more balanced look between upper and lower body.

Of course, I spend the weekend in jeans and a tee shirt, so what do I know from fashion, but just saying.

Hello Madatnewsmedia! This is a message board where people state their views. Speak for yourself. Others enjoy hearing different viewpoints - that's why we're here. BTW sorry to disappoint you, but this isn't about how I dress so you're not likely to ever know.

I just love these types that come onto these boards screaming that 'no one cares about what you think.' Um, isn't that the point of having a dialogue?

I believe this is a Michael Kors dress. I do like the color very springlike, I'm not crazy about the style itself. One thing I have to say I'm delighted to see more dresses and skirts on ladies, it's been a long time in coming back and I think the first lady has helped re-awaken more feminine dressing.

you are right it is a Michael Kors dress. the one she wore to moscow underneath a matching narcisso rodrigiez jacket. i thought white or black shoes would've been much better. still alot better than others. these past 6 months she definitely looks better than her first 6 months especially with hair and makeup. i no longer worry. she keeps getting better and has lost alot of weight though she was never fat. i notice the ones i didn't like were attempts to dress down. she dresses up beautifully

I pretty much like the dresses Michelle picks, but not this one. The color isn't good and the style is awful for her figure. I think it is the high waist, well actually below the bust which is small, and then the dress seems to go on forever and is too tight.

Listen for as frequently as she changes wardrobe she can have some misses just based on numbers.

I am a lot more interested in how the anti-obesity campaign is going. Fashion is just something to ponder about, rising obesity is a huge drain on the economy. Let's get busy.
