Rod Blagojevich FIRED On 'Celebrity Apprentice'

First Posted: 6/4/10 Updated: 5/25/11

Rod Blagojevich has been fired...again.

On the fourth episode of Donald Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice," former Illinois governor Blagojevich took the reigns and became "project manager." Trump sent him to Orlando to check out a presentation of an upcoming Universal Studios "Harry Potter" attraction, and his inability to use email or text message to communicate with his team in New York ended up putting him in front of the firing squad.

The team was told to create an interactive 3-D experience for a group of die-hard "Harry Potter" fans, while selling Universal Studio's new attraction.

The men's team lost for the third straight week. To viewers, it was likely because Blagojevich gave his team little-to-no direction. As viewers saw last week, Blago is basically unable to use a computer or send a text message. While in Orlando, he could not call his team on the phone while he was around Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks--the project manager for the women's team--without her disovering his team's "strategy," which was virtually nonexistent on his end.

When asked by Trump to choose someone to be fired, Blago pretty much said anyone but himself and Poison singer Bret Michaels.

"I was not gonna sell out Bret," he said.

After his entire team (aside from Michaels) told Trump Blago was to blame for the communication lapse, he was fired.

"I got the boot," Blago told cameras in the car leaving Trump Tower.

Trump seemed sad to see Blagojevich go, saying that he felt "sorry" for him and that he had "a lot of courage."

I suspect Blogo is a dyslexic and nearly illiterate. This also affects his ability for left-brained logic, his constant misspeaking and restating. He really has a healthy dose of Chutzpah!!!

Sounds like he used the same high quality management techniques he displayed when he was governor.

he reminded me of the character "Michael Scott" from The Office;)

Exactly. Then he has succeeded with achieving the perception of him that he is so inept he could have never been the mastermind what he is accused of.

I don't understand how a a governor, former or current, could hope to perform the functions of his office without using a computer. This is 2010, not 1979. To be ignorant about computers and text messages in this day and age is complete, 100% *willful* ignorance.

Anyway, good riddance.

it's easy. his assistants bring him printed things to read and print, and he has telephone conversations and meets people in in person. my father ran a mulit milion dollar business without ever touching a computer.

A lot of execs don't even touch computers. That's what administrative assistants are for.

This man needs to retire from public life. He is an embarrassment and has nothing of value to teach to anyone.

ezogoingal if you are correct, then Blago is a genius or is striving to be one. If you are incorrect he is a genius for firing a salvo that hit on all points. Either way he is a winnah.

Blago wanted the perception of him to be reinforced that he is this bumbling idjit who could have never masterminded any sort of graft as governor of Illinois. By being on the Apprentice, he further manipulated his defense in his favor or hoping he achieved that on some level. And, it appears that was the only reason for being on the show.

I agree, but maybe he is desperate to make money too with all his legal expenses.

Blago is a pretty astute individual. Let's set the scene. He WANTS to be on a national TV show, even though he is going to trial this month. During each segment of the Apprentice, he talks in circles, some would call it just speaking like a politician, but it was more than that and crafted so. He never quite "threw anyone of his team under the bus", or let it appear so on the show, which not so surprising was his mantra as to what was being done to him by the state of Illinois. Then, he kept showing how inept he was with all modern day technology. Ergo: those phone calls the state of Illinois have of him allegedly talking about bribes, well, he showed on the Apprentice right before he was booted off that he didn't even know how to use a cell phone that well much less a laptop. So, in those phone calls the AG have of him supposedly talking about payoff's, etc., well, he allowed himself to be shown on the Apprentice that he has difficult even in knowing how to dial a number. I wouldn't be surprised if a tape of the Apprentice will be used in his defense. The guy planned this all specifically while he was on the Apprentice so as to change the perception of him. And, I think Trump figured this out too early on about Blago and what his real motivations were for being on the show.

Blago's trial is this summer, so if your theory is correct, he should have tried to stay on national tv for the entire CA...however he once again proved to be totally narcissistic and his desire to be the only one in charge...he cannot work with others...and what happened last night proves that he is NOT a team player...this man is his own team and this will be his undoing when all of the evidence that federal Prosecutor (not AG) has on him...those of us who live in Illinois can't wait to put this maroon behind bars for a very long time.
10:38 AM on 04/05/2010
No, he didn't NEED to stay on any longer. All he wanted to do was show himself to be inept in most things and particularly "delegating", which would bolster his defense in that there were "others" that caused his demise. And for the Apprentice to SHOW he, "not working with others and not a team player", exactly, that is another ploy he wanted to be sure to convey. Ergo: he was unable to do his governors job to the best of his abilities because of others not following through as required. Please note: I'm NO fan one way or the other of Blago.
