The Los Angeles Times:

Supporters of climate-change legislation are using a surprising figure to promote their cause: Ronald Reagan.

Radio ads asking "What would Reagan do?" are airing during the conservative talk shows of Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck on stations in New Hampshire and are planned in other states in the drive to get Congress to act on global warming legislation.

More conservative myth making about Reagan, who would probably have fallen asleep while hearing about it.

There are Republicans who are in favor of climate change legislation? Come on, give me a break! You could fit them in a small high school gymnasium.

Great. Now we're taking advice from the guy who said that as long as we had the greatest military on the planet, we'd never have to worry about that pesky environment.

republicants wouldn't know a "true conservative value" if it sucked out their remaining jointly-owned brain cell, and spat it on raygun's tomb.

But he does make a good front for their "party" - big stupid smile and simply gaga while yanking the intestines out of the middle class and destroying the country that made him filthy rich.

And there you have the essence of conservative rule and mentality; it's "style" that moves a mediocre mind and "substance" that is its Kryptonite.

He would have been selling out to the highest corporate bidder like every other politician.

Why does the GOP get away with re-writing history so often? They are convinced that the founding fathers were all Christians, that Lincoln shared there ideals and FDR’s New Deal was a bad thing.
WTF?

King Reagan took down the solar panels installed on the White House and did his best to destroy the middle class in this country! Before he came into power, a family could live on one income very well, could afford to send their kids through college and actually knew what a savings account was!

Of course, the wealthy weren't as wealthy as they were after Reagan left!

Reagan? They are so obsessed with Reagan without having any clue as to what he actually did. Nixon at least created the EPA although he was practically forced into it. But Reagan? He took away the EPA's regulations and fired over 3/4 of their employees. After his presidency was done every river near a decent population was practically devoid of fish and too toxic to swim in.

If there is such a creature as a Republican who is capable of thinking of the entire planet and the word "future" at the same time rather than having the myopia of greed that limits their vision to the extent of their holdings and that which they desire to add to them, then they better get OUT of the Republican Party.

The enormous amount of wealth that was already online to defeat those capable of independent thought is about to be joined by the stupendous...staggering...words fail me....amount of corporate wealth unleashed by the Supreme Court.

They wouldn't "have" to join the Democrats; they could become Independents, or even start their own Party if necessary. But there is NO future for independent thought in the Republican Party. Such "Republicans" as are described in this article need to either flee the Republican Party or (to paraphrase the Borg) accept the certainty of what they face:

"We are the Republicans. You will be assimilated."

Didn't Reagan call books "trees"? I guess that's pretty environmental.

Oh Great.
Invoking the ghost of Ronnie Raygun is supposed to make us feel better?
As Gov. of CA he once made a comment on the expansion of protected forests:
"If you've seen one tree, you've seen them all."

Though it is ridiculous to speculate about what Reagan would have done, and through his record on the environment is abysmal, it is odd to see so many people react negatively to this. If this is what it takes to get Republicans and conservatives on board, great! Proponents of action on climate change can use all the help they can get, even if it comes from the Gipper in the sky!
