A chef at a Denver restaurant has been included in food and wine's prestigious list of America's best new chefs. Alex Seidel, head chef at Fruition found out Tuesday that he had become the first Denver chef since 2003 to earn the distinction.
Seidel, who also owns a ranch in Larskspur where he grows his own vegetables and raises chickens and goats, has also worked at Sweet Basil in Vail and Mizuna in Denver.
Food and Wine Magazine names its ten best new chefs annually. Winners will be featured on the magazine's cover, and will be invited to cook at the 28th annual Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, June 18 to 20.
