Bosom Buddies

Access Hollywood:

Thirty years after they donned dresses and high heels, Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari are reuniting. The "Bosom Buddies" duo of Kip and Henry, who pretended to be women (Buffy and Hildegard) in order to keep a roof over their heads by moving into a women's only hotel, will re-team to accept the "Anniversary Award" at the "8th Annual TV Land Awards." The show is set to air Sunday, April 25 at 9:00 PM ET/PT on TV Land.

Wait a minute.... they were both in "That Thing You Do"

Although briefly... Scolari played a concert promoter or emcee

It's a shame the no-talent Hanks went on to have a huge career. Scolari is a much better actor. America worships mediocrity.

Your comment is baffling.
Pray do share with us American yokels, your definition of achievement.
Tom Hanks,no-talent? mediocre ?!?!? Puh!!
Let's see: Second actor to win back to back Best Actor Oscars (Philadelphia Story - Forest Gump) First actor was Spencer Tracy - another no-talent mediocrity?
Youngest person ever to receiv American Film Institute's Life Achievement Award (2002);
Returned to his old high school in Oakland CA to dedicate a renovated theater named for the retired drama teacher he thanked in his Philadelphia Oscar acceptance speech. Donated 1/4 of the $465,000 cost of the project and led the audience of some 1000 people in a chorus of "There's No Business Like Show Business";
Received Distinguished Public Service Award, the US Navy's highest civilian honor for his work in Saving Private Ryan;
Chosen by Entertainment Weekly as the only actor worthy of $20 million;
Member of the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Pitcture Arts and Sciences since 2001.
Between 1994 and 2004, he was the performer nominated for the most Academy Awards (4 times, along with Sean Penn, Meryl Streep, Julianne Moore, Judi Dench and Ed Harris) and won the most (twice). Do you also label Penn, Streep, Moore, Dench and Harris as "no-talent" mediocrities?

All those awards and honors are celebrations of mediocrity. They don't reflect talent, they reflect what's beloved by middlebrows. That's not to say that good actors never get honored; they sometimes do. But on the whole, the best artists in any given medium go utterly ignored in this philistine land, and that's thanks to indiscriminating people like you.

Way better than Hanks' recent work in Dan Brown based movies.

Ditto! At least the first year or two. Towards the end it went downhill but don't they all?

Awww... This headline made me think that they were going to do a "Bossum Byddies" movie. (tho, I guess it would be pretty sad if the characters Scolari and Hanks were playing were still having to cross dress for cheap rent). Too bad.

I don't know what it was about that show (maybe it was Tom Hanks) but I loved it.

Great to hear! Loved that show. One could just see during that show what a great comedic talent Tom Hanks was. His timing was impeccable.

I LOVED BOSOM BUDDIES. I'm dissapointed that they're not doing a movie though but I guess it wouldn't be the same without Wendie Jo Sperber.

Ah! I didn't know she'd passed. How sad. You're right, the show wouldn't be the same without her talent.

What could have been a one joke half season show was elevated with a great cast. Very cool to see Hanks celebrate his roots.
