Dressed To Kilt: Who Looked Drab & Who Was Fab? (PHOTOS, POLL)

First Posted: 06/06/2010 5:12 am   Updated: 05/25/2011 4:05 pm

It's that time of year! If you have no idea what exactly "Dressed To Kilt" is and what it is for, well, neither did we. So here's a little explanation from the press release:

Hosted by Sir Sean and Lady Connery, this year's Dressed to Kilt, themed "Mad for Scotland," will feature hot Scots, celebrity supporters and bold-faced names from New York City and around the globe. Showcasing a range of styles from traditional Highland kilts to designer haute couture, Scotland's finest young talent and top designers embrace the Scottish kilt to send it down the runway. Sponsored by Friends of Scotland, a non-profit organization founded by Sir Sean Connery dedicated to advancing contemporary Scottish interests in the United States, the event will be held on April 5 at M2 Lounge. Proceeds will benefit the Paralyzed Veterans of America and its Scottish equivalent, the Erskine Hospital of Scotland, along with the Wounded Warrior Project.

Take a look through and tell us who looks prettiest in their plaids!

Men look great in skirts. Also feel great.

It's surprising how many guys never stop to consider how little sense bifurcated trousers make for an animal with external genitals.

Where's David Duchovney? His mum is a Scot (I understand) and how about Gillian ANDERSON - they could have done a double act!

I do wish Mike Myers would give it up though. He just looks wrong. Kyle MacLaughlan looked good.

Katharine Brown looked great in that plaid dress. But it wasn't a kilt!

The fabric is tartan, a Scottish fabric that is traditionally used to make kilts:

Can anyone answer this question: Why did men stop wearing skirts?

They are not skirts. They are kilts. Don't ever say that in Scotland - you won't be very popular.

"That's not beige, that's ecru!"

Eschew euphemism.

And didn't men during the Roman Empire wear togas?
