I thought she was great. I don't understand what the criticism is about.

because the highlights are about the PLAYERS not Jennifer Hudson. Obviously they weren't thinking of the sports fans more drip than dribble....

And it showed way more players than Jennifer Hudson. I know plenty of sports fans that love Jennifer Hudson and basketball...and that includes myself. You can't generalize all sports fans.

I totally agree. It looked like a video for Jennifer Hudson. Ridiculous! This tournament had the most buzzer beaters that I can ever remember. They had a lot of footage to work with and they failed to utilize. Besides, Luther Vandross' version is much better. I hope they get back to their senses next year and use Luther's version.

To me the "one Shining Moment" is when all this nonsense is over.

it seems that unless you're pandering to J Hudson or Beyonce these days you're not relevant. I'm quite bored with the media ramming this culture down our throats. Let's move on there is A LOT more talent out there than same few players....

Jennifer Hudson isn't rammed down our throats. She's an amazing singer. There's no point in over looking somebody that worked hard to get to where they are just to pick out another new great singer. It's not as if she doesn't have a great voice and she hasn't even been that popular for long.

So true, however, she is not only an amazing singer but a very talented actress as well. This young lady is here to stay and I think it's great! Far too many entertainers are rich and have the money to buy themselves in the business regardless of the fact that they possess no talent (i.e. Paris).

which culture does "this culture" refer to?

and how is it being rammed anywhere? televisions don't have on/off or channel selector buttons?

2 dimensional pop stars...Many of us like MUSICIANS not American Idol scripted singers that never wrote a tune in their LIFE.

...nice try playa. Keep chasing those shiny objects you may catch one one day....

The 2010 edit is weak starting with the opening line of the song where the ball is tipped and there is no ball. The lyrics are classic and beautiful. They should be sung - not screamed. I doubt this version would have happened if Doug Towey, the producer who put it together 25 years ago, were still alive. Luther owns this song and should have continued. If ESPN takes the tournament, they will need to buy this song. It is as much a part of NCAA basketball as John Madden was to the NFL when NBC acquired the Sunday night games.

Any survey should not simply have an "I loved her" vs. "I hated her" but also a "I've grown to hate that song" and a "I have always disliked that song" options.

i think this headline is misleading. jennifer hudson isn't the problem the editing is...the cut scenes to hudson were too frequent but that is not her fault.

I can't say I care one way or another. I've always thought the One Shining Moment thing was hokey and overly sentimental. Sometimes I watch just to see the highlights & replays of the buzzer-beaters, but when I do it's usually with the sound off. Can't say I was impressed with Hudson's version, but she wasn't exactly working with the best material ever written, either.

Why is this a big deal?

I don't think that much of the song anyway. J Hud CAN sing, so I don't see what the problem was.

I thought she was awesome! I think a lot of people cannot accept a WOMAN singing that song. Hey, after 20 plus years of men singing that song, give someone else a turn. The tribute was superb, as always.

This may be the end of a 20 year song and march madness on CBS. If CBS opts out the games will probably go to ESPN. I think NBC used Kenny Logan's "This Is IT" when they had march madness. The song may not matter but the tournaments tribute set to whatever music is great.

And just think, she made more for that 3 minutes than ALL the players in the tournament did.

At least above board.

Its on par with the other ones. Since the song is only 3 minutes long maybe they can keep looping it to get everyone's images in. That should satisfy the haters.
