Outrageous Google Trends That Make Us Question Humanity (PICTURES)

Huffington Post     First Posted: 06/08/10 06:12 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 05:05 PM ET

Google trends is a really useful tool if you want to learn more about how people use the Internet. It's also really helpful for figuring out how ridiculous people are. You have to remember that these are collective data - many different people have to search for the same thing in order for it to become a hot trend. How so many people could want to sleep with their sisters, care more about "American Idol" than climate change, or not know who MERYL Streep is, totally confounds us. These screenshots are hilarious proof of how little we know, and how bizarre our queries can really get.

We really don't want to know why this was a query, unless female dogs have figured out how to Google things. (source)

Over half of those are no big deal. Some are crazy, some are funny and a couple are just plain sick.

can i get pregnant from a dog?
how is that a bad question? is it bad to be curious? of course the only thing this means is
that this women has not had a decent biology class all her life. other than that i think it is great to be curious. America seriously needs to step up to gives its people a better science and math education.

Bah! That one is obviously a joke. Probably a lot of people got together just to *make* that a trend. On just that page, there's another trend that makes me question humanity, or at least the U.S. education system, much more: "texes."

When I lived in the States I was always hurt when someone took offense at my opinions, political or otherwise, and said, "if you don't like it here, why don't you move to Canada!" Now that I live in Québec, I consider this the best advice I ever received. Bonne journée !

Whoever wrote the comments doesn't know how to use amount vs. number or less/fewer. Lamenting the additional lack of literacy.

Perhaps you are correct, but it is of my opinion that your use of the word lamenting is poor.

America has become the land of fools! How else does one explain the behavior of its citizens? There is definitely an intellectual drain and it isn't from any one particular age group. Information seems to no longer be based on facts ascertained through research, but tends to come from clueless talking heads equippd with the latest techology. It seems more and more that an outrageous LIE, repeated numerous times, takes on a life of it own and for an evergrowing minority, becomes fact in their world.
It is all pretty scary when it is put into perspective, especially knowing that these same people cast votes to determine the country's future. I hope it is a mere "bump in the road" but I fear it is more than that. It begs the question: "Is it too late?" If you have to ask, "Too late for what?" then maybe you should "google" it!

As i have said here before, the question is not whether mankind will continue to exist, rather, does it deserve to continue to exist. The answer will depend on your perspective.Mine is that the glass is half empty............
