Ben Roethlisberger dodged a bullet Monday afternoon when Georgia authorities declined to file sexual assault charges against the Steelers quarterback. But that didn't stop the district attorney from excoriating the two-time Super Bowl champ.
During a press conference Monday, Fred Bright blasted Roethlisberger, telling the quarterback to "grow up" and adding, "You're supposed to stand for something."
After observing that nearly everyone involved in the March incident shared some blame, Bright said that "there was too much drinking going on." Then he turned his focus to the Steelers signal caller:
If he were my son, the best way I could answer it is, Ben, grow up. Come on, you're supposed to stand for something.
Bright is evidently not the only one to express the sentiment. Roethlisberger will meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell later this week, and a suspension could still be in the quarterback's future.
