American Family Association To Muslim-Americans: Convert To Christianity Or Leave

First Posted: 06/13/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 05:10 PM ET

Pakistan Us Arrests

It seems like only a week ago that the American Family Association's Bryan Fischer (who is the AFA's Director of Issues Analysis, perhaps because he has so many personal issues that need to be analyzed by professional psychopharmacologists), was saying that the Christian thing to do would be to round up all Muslim American citizens and deport them to Muslim countries, because surely that would solve a lot of problems? You know, by sending happy American citizens to other countries?

The most compassionate thing we can do for Muslims who have already immigrated here is to help repatriate them back to Muslim countries, where they can live in a culture which shares their values, a place where they can once again be at home, surrounded by people who cherish their deeply held ideals. Why force them to chafe against the freedom, liberty and civil rights we cherish in the West?

Well, naturally, such remarks call for a clarification, and, in keeping with the traditions of "clarifying," Fischer basically swaps out one ridiculously abhorrent statement for another statement of equal ridiculous abhorrence, without really retracting the first.

Via Media Matters:

Muslims who have become naturalized citizens, of course, would need to commit an act of treason to forfeit their citizenship and become eligible for repatriation. Based on the Constitution's definition of treason in Article III Section 3 ["adhering to (the) Enemies (of the United States), (or) giving them Aid and Comfort"] treasonous acts are likely committed on virtually a weekly basis here in the U.S. in many mosques and Islamic organizations.

[...]

Muslims continue to have as their objective the Islamization of the entire world, including the U.S., and are taught by their god to use force where necessary to accomplish the goal. The current objective of Muslim activists is to create a brand new Islamic state - meaning a state like New Jersey or Montana - out of existing jurisdictions and establish a virtual Islamic homeland in our midst.

[...]

Many Muslims are on our shores on student visas and such and have not yet become citizens. We must politely decline their request for naturalization (becoming an American citizen is a privilege, not a right) and use the money we would otherwise spend on their welfare, their education, their medical care and their incarceration to graciously assist them in returning to their countries of origin.

Those who are willing to convert to Christianity and renounce Islam, Allah, Mohammed and the Koran may be welcomed, for they can become not just good Christians but true Americans.

Meanwhile, I am reliably informed by the Constitution of the United States that one of the freedoms we cherish in America is the right to worship whatever faith we bloody well please, so maybe it's Fischer who needs to sail away on a little sloop in search of a land more to his liking?

This great land had no Christianity before 1492 when Columbus first set foot here. How dare any Christian or any other religious fanatic from the old world claim ownership of this land. We have to tell them to back off.

I agree with AFA... but they don't go far enough.

Anyone following any religion that hasn't been in North America for more than 500 years should also leave... and lets start with the AFA membership

Are these Mormans people really Christians?????? They mis use the name, Jesus, a whole lot but they have some real strange ideas about his teachings! If you read the Kuran the teachings of Jesus are much much closer to the Bible than they are to the "Book of Morman"!

So Mormon's are not really "Christian"? Are they just faking it? Isn't that more dangerous?

Or is it Okay to believe what you believe in the United States of America. Isn't having your beliefs and your religion your own business in this great country?

When did it become the business of someone who is trying to live off contributions from people he tells what to think?

Yes Mormons are Christians. They made up new legends about Jesus that other Christians ignore, but they are allowed to do so because:

1. Legend states that Jesus is an eternal magical being who can appear anywhere at anytime, contact people through visions and perform miracles around the world. He is not limited to a few books in the bible.

2. this is supported with no evidence

therefore no conception of Jesus can be shown to be more valid than another if you accept the basic Christian claims. Even if someone said that Jesus appeared to them and told them that the gospel was written by a drunk that wanted to ruin his image, no one would have any grounds to show that they were wrong because there is no criteria for doing so.And it's happened before: the council of Nicaea(?) discarded gospels that were accepted for hundreds of years as apocryphal. People spent their entire lives following stories that no longer "count". In Islam, there were sections of text regarded as inspired by the devil that are also now ignored. It's stupid, but that's religion for you.

In my opinion – Christ was born in the Middle East and probably looked more Semitic than European, why not just bleach everyone in the US and bleach them white and blend Christianity with Islam and call the new religion Islamerichristianity where everyone could worship Goallad and read the Korbiblean. The women would wear mini-burkas and instead of blowing up sin-er-fidels, give them $ millions since most people who win lotto soon go bankrupt. This way the economy would be stimulated and non-white sin-er-fidels would be neutralized without violating their constitutional-human-civil-rights (Ouch, I now have a headache!) Heil Sara (Palin) LOL

Just last week, I posted the results of a scientific study from Baylor University (a Baptist institution), entitled "People Primed With Christian Religious Words More Likely To Express Racial Prejudice". The study itself was geared towards the effects of those words on African-Americans.
I wondered if they would also be applicable to other races. It'd appear I was right.
Some of the people at Care2.com thought it was a b.s. study. They might have to rethink their position now.

Bryan Fischer is one of the wisest people I have ever heard on radio talk. If you think he is wrong about muslims go ask the Danish people how they like muslims. Or ask the Brits on how they like being over run with muslims. Fischer is right on the money with this one. Devout Muslims cannot integrate in America where democracy rules. If a muslim is not devout it is possible for him/her to assimilate into American culture because they do not follow the Koran the way it is supposed to be followed.

Oh yeah, ask the people in Dearborn, MI how they like being over run with muslims.

They let you have access to the Internetz at the home? Dang, standards are slipping.

Get a clue. Much of the vibrant eclecticism of contemporary European culture owes its roots to your "Muslims" bogeyman. "Muslim" is not a one-size-fits-all label, any more than "Christian" is. If Christianity can encompass cloistered Catholic nuns as well as Mormon girlie calendars, "Islam" is equally well able to encompass the joyous, anti-authoritarian rhythms of Algerian Rai music as well as the whirling dervishes of the mystical Sufis as well as the bearded orthodox with which every religion, unfortunately, appears to be saddled.

...These "AFA" nut cases are the same group of morons that called for "stoning a captive Killer Whale" last month, just like "they did in the bible". These loonies are an embarrassment to this country, an embarrassment to the concept of "family" which is supposed to be a "role model" for children, and I'll even say an embarrassment (and betrayal) to all religions.

AFA nut cases? Let's see:

1) AFA is against the Homosexual agenda - that's terrible. Gays cannot even give blood. enough said.
2) AFA is against Big Gov't.- That's really bad. The bigger the Gov't the more taxes it takes to run it. Too much welfare. What the Gov't gives to someone it takes from someone else.
3) AFA stands for Judeo-Christian values - Really, really bad. If everyone in this country were to honor those values this country would be a wonderful place. If you don't work...You don't eat. Everyone honors the golden rule (Do unto others as you would have them done to you). Supports traditional family (1 man + 1 woman).
4) Support the US Constitution- Know we are getting really, really, really bad now.

It seems to me that AFA stands for what is right.

"Muslim terroists are odd creatures holding the Koran and crashing highjacked air liners into the World Trade Center." I agree, odd in that both groups gain some type of authoritarian claim to truth by proclaiming a god of love yet their internal conflict can not bring them to love their god nor themselves. As a result they project the internal conflict in to this world and justify killing others. Symbolically committing suicide or suicide as they kill others. The inner world of the Muslim terrorists is the same as the inner world of the Christian Fundamentalist. Fundamentalist live in a state of inner terror.

Refgregory,

Apparently you don't know much about history at all. Did you know that the so called 'CHRISTIAN' religion, went on a slaughtering spree in the 16th - 18th century. Or because you were born in this age. Tune into the "Television of History" READ and OPEN your FREAKING MIND. Christianity under the guise of the Roman Empire Machine went about slaughtering people under the umbrella of bringing them a religion of worship of one Deity, which was clearly TWISTED to suit their plundering of other civilizations.

By the way am a Christ Follower, but I can tell you that Mohammed saw how the Roman Empire had twisted the teachings of Christ and sought to correct it in ISLAM. By the way, Allah, is from Illah, which means "Worship of One Diety - One God" which was used (Illah) in the old Jewish text

I really don't understand your response. Because I commented on the inner world of fundamentalist you infer I have a closed mind,do not read, and my mind is freaking. Interesting projection. My analysis is not limited to this age. I believe it to be true since the beginning of the totalitarian agricultural age. The beginning of patriarchy.

Or was it the phrase, "Fundamentalist live in a state of inner terror." that caused your emotional reactivity.

Where in the United States Constitution does it say that the US is only a Christian Evangelical country?
The US is open for any religion and for any creed.

The Muslims in the US pay their taxes and they are decent US citizens - Therefore the worthless opinion of those radical, distorted white Evangelical Christians Palin/Fox - is not the law of the country - They can incubate on their hatred about Muslin as long as they want because the Muslim will be here for eternity and there is nothing they can do about it

Seems to me a lot of the founding fathers were Anglicans, Deists or Unitarians -or free thinkers (and a bucket-load freemasons). Hardly the fervent evangelical Christians of today.

Wasn't it Jefferson who edited the New Testament to remove all references to Jesus' divinity? Modern day religious evangelicals find historical facts troubling, so they dispense with them in favor of their spin.

The War of Independence disestablish religion as fervently as did the French Revolution.
