McDonald's Forgets How To Spell Its Own Name (PHOTOS)

Yep, one of these is not like the other, one of these just doesn't belong. In this case it would be the banner spelled "MoDonald's" instead of "McDonald's" hanging from the newly-refurbished location on Broadway in Manhattan. We couldn't help but snap a few photos to share with friends (both internet and those that exist in real life) in hopes of finding a better explanation than "they screwed up."

I think everyone is having a bit too much fun with this, i'm totally here to throw ice water on your teepees. The flag is made of a vinyl fabric and has vinyl cut lettering adhered to it, during the cutting process the c (which hey look is the same shape as an o) had it's cut out stay stuck on the material - the oversight in completeness was overlooked by probably just two people, the pressman, and the delivery/installer.

but carry on, it's funnier to believe that an entire multinational corporation "forgot how to spell it's name", yeah that'll teach em. *eyeroll*

I remember when this McD's opened in the East Village, it was the beginning of the end for that neighborhood ... so sad when the franchises and chains roll in to your favorite NYC neighborhood.

What you really don't understand is they thought no one in NY would even notice it.

I think it was done on purpose... clever marketing to a certain demographic.

I used to work at the ad agency that did McDonald's work. Then they layed me off. Hah, that'll teach 'em!

1. The printer did not notice.
2. The person who accepted delivery of the sign did not notice.
3. The manager did not notice.
4. The person who hung the banner did not notice.

I wonder if anyone in that chain completed high school.

1. The seamstress was a Chinese immigrant working in a sweatshop for $2 an hour and can't read the English version of McDonald's.

2. Nobody at the store was handed a flag to inspect as that work is done by contractors.

3. The flag is not weathered in the slightest, the ladder leading to the roof, the construction tape surrounding the ladder and area under where the flag was hung, and what look like it might be a contractors van parked on the left side of the pick tells me the the flag was probably just put up.

4. The manager will tell the vendor to take it down when he does his inspection b4 signing off on the work.

Cliche' much for your street cred?

That ladder was never used to hang that flag. They probably had access to the flag from the roof top, and that ladder never comes close to making it to the top of the roof.

If this was a printed form of media, it would be at about page 200. It's pretty well buried. Nice try at bashing for the sake of bashing, though.
