"O'Reilly Factor" ambush expert Jesse Watters set his sights on Al Gore recently.

"We've been trying to get Al Gore on the Factor for more than 11 years, but he has been resistant," Bill O'Reilly said Monday.

Watters tracked Gore down at Duke University, where the former Vice President was delivering a speech.

"I don't like ambush journalism," Gore told Watters, adding that he would "consider" coming on O'Reilly's show.

As Watters pressed on, Gore repeatedly and calmly kept saying, "I'm not doing an interview right now."

FoxNews.com summarized the video as follows:

Former VP loses his 'cool' when producer Jesse Watters catches up with him

"We mean no disrespect to Al Gore," O'Reilly said.

Oreilly's justification for ambushing various people is "well,we asked him/her to come on the show and they refused"......since when is the reasonable response to stalk the person-in many cases at their front door,at home w/ their children present......

freedom of the press is freedom of the press.....and regardless of ideology,i think politicians oughtta be held more accountable......but oreilly seems to truly believe that because he has the highest rated cable news show, that because one or two million americans(out of 300 million) watch his show, that he has a right to demand that people he disagrees with appear on his show......

60 minutes invented the whole "ambush journalism" thing.....but the people they ambushed were criminals, and various sc um ba gs......not just random pols or journalists who held opposing views or who wrote an editorial criticizing Don Hewitt......

This type of behavior is NOT journalism. This guy has probably never taken a J school class in his life. His entire career seems to be only as a stooge for the "Bill O" show.

"no disrespect to Al Gore"? Really, Bill? Really?

O'Reilly clearly has an underdeveloped sense of irony.

Have you ever been at a gas pump trying to do your thing when somebody with insane hair and wild eyes comes up to you demanding money, blabbering a cr@zy story that makes absolutely no sense because they're clearly very dr u nk, and the whole experience is so bad you have to stop what you're doing, lock your car, grab your 18 month child, and go inside the store for a little bit until they wander off back down the road? That happened to me last Saturday night.

This reporter acted JUST like the guy I dealt with at the gas pump last Saturday night. I don't know. It could have been him. FOX just made him take a bath.

If I did not have a girlfriend... I would be trying to seduce you away from your significant other right now!

I have to agree with your assesment. Gore told the guy he would consider and interview and the 'producer' instead of backing off seemed to take that as a reason to stalk Mr. Gore.

I say the producer was lucky. I would have hated to see that producer get "Al Frankened" by Al Gore.

Al's a pretty big dude. It would have been so cool if, out of character, he would have popped him and laid him out cold.

What I find amazing is the fact that Faux News never ask those they support the hard questions. I wish I had been there. I would of tackled him to the floor. That would have been good television.

Many of the people that come on their show, just come to bash the president. Even the politicans they have - bash the president. They never give any new ideals or solutions to whatever it is they're saying. It is all about disrepect and dislike and "them" trying to make America fail under this Administration. Which is truly un-American.

I can't wait until November. PEOPLE WE HAVE TO GET TO THE POLLS IN NOVEMBER AND SPEAK WITH OUR VOTES.

What a silly, pointless thing that was.

If you want to continue to make millions of dollars every year Mr. O'Reilly, you'll have to do better than pestering people in hallways.

Big Al better get schooled up quick in the ways of ambush journalism.
This is the new century.
He can't expect to sit in supreme isolation from the masses atop his mountain and issue unquestioned edicts to us lowly serfs.

It's the way it's going to be from now on Al.
The rules have changed and I applaud the guerrrilla tactics from all sides of the political spectrum.

You are not special Mr. Gore, even though you may be a (little g) god to some out there.

Not a big fan of ambush tactics but Al Gore has it coming to him. The guy makes so much money peddling his one sided anthropogenic global warming propaganda, and never let's anyone ask a critical question. If your the face of the doom saying man made global warming argument you should atleast do an interview once an a while where the interviewer asks a question other than "Why are you so awesome?"

Why doesn't O'Reilly have oil, gas, and other industries' executives on to talk about how much they are profiting on denying man made global warming. I bet their profits would make anything Al Gore makes look like chump change.

Actually corporations such as G.E. are lobbying for Cap N Trade(which is a pointless policy even if you do beleive anthropogenic global warming is a major issue) and other measures to combat global warming because it benefits them in terms of the technology they have developed and it makes it more difficult for smaller firms to enter the market.

A factual refutation of Gore, if that's what O'Reilly wants, doesn't require his presence. This isn't about refuting Gore's facts, this is about destroying the man.
If you honestly think Global Warming has ever been about facts, you're dead wrong. Its about politics and the war between Democrat and Republican. Thats why 'apostates' on both sides are reviled by their compatriots.
So, lets stop pretending this is about science. O'Reilly wants him on the show to belittle and demean him, nothing more.

I will agree with you that the global warming debate is more political than scientific. I wouldn't go as far to say he wants to destroy Al Gore, more the fact that he is the face of this political debate. Bill O'Reilly actually believes in Man Made Global Warming and wants the government to do something about it. You have to admit, it is fun making fun of Al Gore, ever see South Park?

Correct. This has to do with character smears and ratings, not facts.

So, Bill O'reilly thinks that Al Gore has a responsibility to answer his questions now that he's not in office. Well then I suppose he wouldn't disagree that Bush or Cheney has a responsibilty to answer questions on say Rachel Maddow, or Chris Matthews, Or Keith Olbermann right? Or better yet let's have a public Q&A from the site of the twin towers! After all they owe us the truth don't they?
