'The Overton Window': Glenn Beck's New Book Cover Voted On By Fans (PHOTOS)

Huffington Post     First Posted: 06/13/10 06:12 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 05:10 PM ET

Glenn Beck has a new book coming out, "The Overton Window." Naturally, it's a political thriller touching on the many fears and fantasies of Beck. Recently he described it as: "a story of America in a time much like today where the people are confused," with a government in crisis and the rise of a citizens' group called the Founders Keepers, which "leads to a battle and a civil war, and life is upside-down planetwide."

In a bid to drum up some buzz for the release, Beck has put out four different covers that people can vote for on his website. We've gathered them below for your viewing pleasure. (To let Beck know your preference, click HERE.) We're also partial to cover three.

Most posts here are non-specific. How about some specific criticism of the man. I think what he writes and says has a bearing on what is happening today.

Fine Bush not the president to be wished for but to be replaced by Obama is panacea? Throw the bums out... all of them and lets start over....Let's have some real discourse of revelent topics besides he "said she said" things. Is this or is it not a place for participants to post intelligent comment concerning the topic they post on?

Why is Beck's name the biggest item on the title page?

LOL the font looks as if it belongs on adult novels. Also, the picture with the guy looks like clash of the titans movie poster or something. All of this is really awful

Barbie & Ken:

To quote a transcript accompanying another version of this artwork:
"Let me show you first — this is a picture of the Colossus of Rhodes. They didn't have digital cameras in 280 B.C. So, this is an artist rendering of what it was. This was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It took 12 years to build. It stood about 107 feet high."

Or, as you so elequently stated, "looks like clash of the titans movie poster or something. All of this is really awful"

Perhaps it would be worth looking up what the Colossus of Rhodes was, what it stood for, and why it was built.

And judging by some things wrote earlier in response to the book "The Overton Window" - some folks just MIGHT want to check out the last two paragraphs of Rudyard Kippling's "The Gods of the Copybook Headings" too.

There should be a photo of Beck that best represents his personality: Like a picture showing him with his head up his butt!

Did he consult with Frank Luntz for the title? If so I'm sure Frank also has a graphic in mind that would strike at the emotions of those that may "possibly" read the book.

Glenduh has never been within 200 miles of a foxhole.

Glenduh? I've seen the word "Glenduh" several times on this site...is that supposed to be witty? Beside being reminiscent of the type of ridicule I remember hearing back in junior high, I'm really confused by its widespread use on a site purportedly built by intellectuals and thinkers...especially since Glenn has two n's in it. The thing about being witty is that you must first be correct, otherwise it doesn't work. (The hint is that his name is spelled "Glenn" on each of the examples provided at the top of this article - you know...the photos which are supposed to be the very basis for this discussion?)

I've said it before, and evidently I'll have to say it frequently on this site - name-calling is devoid of worth regardless of which side uses it. It is a barrier to conversation and problem-solving. It is devicive and only weakens one's arguments; as it is usually reserved for those who have already lost the debated point.
