Turns out it's not just in our heads: Dating in big cities is mathematically more difficult.
Satoshi Kanazawa, an evolutionary psychologist from the London School of Economics, outlines the reasons behind dating difficulties in big cities.
It seems that the reason you meet and reject more people in New York City dating circles is because your pool is so much larger.
Kanazawa says, "If you live in New York City you may meet a thousand people before you can start getting serious about finding a mate, so the larger the pool the more people you have to reject."
