Jon Stewart took on the Tea Baggers' recent attempts to cut down on extreme behavior last night, jokingly pointing out that their problem may lie in the political support they attract -- not their violence, bigotry or law-breaking.
As Stewart "discovered," GOP members are coming in, acting just as extreme (if not more so) than some of the Tea Baggers, themselves. He referenced Republican Congressman Louie Gohmert, who spoke at a rally, announcing that he would show the crowd an actual abortion. Indeed extreme.
Stewart sarcastically came to the realization that the only way the Tea Baggers are going to be successful is if they distance themselves from these so-called Republicans.
"The tea parties are about smaller government, lower taxes. When you get Republicans involved, that's when the crazy comes out. And then nobody will take your Hitler-Obama signs seriously."
