Kate Gosselin On Leno: I'm Unaware Of What Jon Does For A Living (VIDEO)

Kate Gosselin continued her publicity tour on 'The Tonight Show' Thursday night and admitted she doesn't know what ex-husband Jon does for money.

"What does Jon do for a living?" Leno asked.

"Um, I don't know," said Kate."

"Does he have a job?"

"Not that I'm aware of."

Kate again defended her choice to support her family through reality shows.

"I'm a single mom of eight kids, I feel like I say this a lot, and for whatever reason, I feel like I have to defend myself," she said. "The truth is moms work, single moms work. I travel and work and that's my job, and I'm very grateful and fortunate to have a job. When work comes my way I do it so I can literally put food on the table and send my kids to school."

Kate also thanked her fans for not voting her off 'Dancing with the Stars' despite some horrible performances.

"I have to thank all of my voters, because my dancing isn't really keeping me there," she said.

Please! How much food does she need to put on the table? The contract with TLC keeps Jon from working now that the J & K +8 show is not taping--if he works, Kate will NOT get paid the $100,000 per month they have been paying her. Also, Jon has been paying $20,000 in child support from the money set aside from his share of the money from their show. Additionally, this woman just released a book of letters (supposedly written to her children--which details their emotional suffering as a result of the divorce) for which she was paid $1 million dollars. This doesn't include money from previous books, appearances on other shows, interviews, & all the freebies (like free Gymboree clothes for the kids). She's trying to play on the sympathies of people who actually believe she's a single mother working to feed 8 (count em' 8 kids--yes, she makes sure to always say that), when in reality if she scaled back their lifestyle from the huge million dollar compound (her spa trips, tanning, shopping) they could still live more comfortably than the average American family. I'd respect her more if she just told the truth and admitted that she is doing this "work," because SHE enjoys the fame, attention, travel and being away from the children.

She has worked hard for her money, why should she need to scale back. Her childrent are not wanting or hurting for anything. The kids are gone to school all day so if she tans, gets pedis or gets her hair done, that is not taking time away from the kids.

I noticed that tonight she attempted to use the kids as an excuse for votes ( "they want to see me stay on the show....they look forward to it").. It's called the pity vote. .Apparently it's working. She should have gone home the first week. Could it be that this show is "fixed"?

I understand working moms...cause let's face it dads travel all the time and leave the kids at home on business trips...why shouldn't a woman? But, it's getting annoying seeing her on so many talk shows at once.

According to the lawyer he has now, he did not have any legal representation when the order was put in place. I am not fan of his, but that is unconscionable. And you are right, any parent who takes advantage of a situation like that is just plain rotten.

I agree1 with you 100% right about this witch, she is cold hearted, self centered' vain and just plain out hateful. Jon had a job as a Computer Analyst before she made him quit and get a hair transplant, that he clearly didn't want and he didn't want to quit his job either. She doesn't have to do TV, she is a registered Nurse. There are women that have more kids than that work regular jobs and support their kids without being on tv. She has played a lot of the media into feeling sorry for her, heck they covered up her nastiness as just a hard exterior, but warm with her kids, which is a l ! e, those kids are terrified of her and was always happier when jon was homw ith them.
