Tracy Morgan Talks Tea Baggers, Beef With Tobey Maguire (VIDEO)

First Posted: 06/16/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 05:10 PM ET

Tracy Morgan was a guest on "The Daily Show" last night, and as usual, did not disappoint. Morgan, who we never pegged as a politics junkie anyway, began the interview by referring to the Tea Party as "left-wing." He then added that they should be calling themselves "Teabaggers." Duly noted.

But Morgan redeemed himself, confirming that he has never seen "Spiderman" because Tobey Maguire owes him 75 bucks. Classic. This became the focal point of the interview, and the interview proceeded as a Tracy Morgan interview should: crazy, entertaining, and of course, hilarious.

I pretty much love this interview. You can tell how much Jon and Tracy genuinely enjoy speaking to each other and that teamed with the awesome audience interaction makes this pure gold. Well done, Stew-Beef!

I hate Tracy Morgan. He is not funny. He's incredibly annoying. He is a waste on 30 Rock. His character is awful. That's one of my few complaints on that show. I hate how he's always playing the race card too. I was disappointed to see Jon laughing at everything Tracy said. Please! It's not like Morgan is the funniest guest he had on. Ricky Gervais is a hilarious guest and is actually hilarious. I just don't understand how people can find Morgan funny

Tracy is an original, someone we'd call 'a trip', meaning that you just go along for the ride, and splainin' ain't necessary or appropriate...

It was quite painful to watch Stewart's fake, hysterical laugh during this tediously unfunny segment.

Seemed like a genuine 'bromance' to me. Tracey was even funnier on his show a few weeks back.

JS does tend to fake laugh a lot. Either that, or his real laugh sounds absolutely fake, which would be unfortunate.

It doesn't even matter what he says, he cracks me up every time he opens his mouth! I love Tracy and I'm so with Jon in wanting to follow him around for a week. "You need a GED to be on this show!" Lol! I love it.

That comment got me too, the guy says the funniest things and they're all just through away comments too. He has no shame and he's the better man for it.

Its obvious now why Tina Fey brought Tracy to 30 Rock...he's one of a kind. He's not a copy of anyone.
Is he like this off camera?? From stories, it seems yes. Is it a total put on?? Maybe we'll never know.
All we can do is enjoy what he is.

No it's real, people that work with him say that the can't believe how naturally funny he is on and off camera.

???? I'm so confused, the movie Death at a Funeral already exists - it's a british comedy, why would they re-make it so exactly? they even used the same actor as the little person, same script, and pretty much the same set - AND the exact same title. The only difference is that instead of a bunch of white british people, it's a bunch of black american people. so weird.

It is a little strange.
Though it could end up being super-cool if this became an international phenomenon -- the Israeli version, the Japanese version, the Indian version, the French version, etc...all with the same actor, Peter Dinklage, playing the little person homosexual lover.

Exactly. How many versions of "Ugly Betty" are out there?

Box office. Americans just don't watch foreign films, even if they're in a similar language, like real English. They can't understand Australian or British or South African accents. Movies have to be sppon fed to Yanks. It's pretty sad.

Wheras European culture can absorb American movies and music like fast food stains on a napkin.

Sometimes I wonder why oh why did Tina Fey make Tracy Morgan such a prominent part of 30 Rock. But then interviews like this remind me of how funny he is. My favorite part was him talking about his Burger King experience and how he knew he was A-list. Two apples pies! Two!

There's hardly anyone else who could pull off the role Tracy plays on 30 Rock.

Agreed, and I would imagine the character was created specifically with him in mind.

I'm sorry but Jon was laughing a little too hard. Tracy is comical but Jon acted like these were the first jokes he ever heard.
09:26 PM on 04/16/2010
But I think it was genuine. He got "tickled" and the thing about Tracy is he walks the line between genius and crazy, he can hit your "funnybone", I was sitting on my couch giggling just like Jon.

That segment was hilarious. There aren't many comedians Stewart can't keep up with, but Morgan is definitely one.

Jimmy Fallon keeps up with Tracy, and Tina Fey too.....Jon can but doesn't know what to expect from Tracey! It's OK, tho, cause Tracey is so entertaining....he's the whole show, yes?
