'SNL' Mocks Tea Baggers' Outfits, Signs, And Lack Of Humor (VIDEO)

First Posted: 06/18/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 05:10 PM ET

Bill Hader made an appearance as James Carville last night on "Weekend Update," and had some fun at the Tea Baggers expense. Referring to their dispeasure with Obama poking fun at them, Carville pretty much spelled it out:

"You can't dress how you dress and not expect jokes. You're wearing colonial costumes. And not even the whole costume...Which founding father wore the tri-corner hat with an Orlando Magic jersey?"

He also threw in some jabs at the protests signs and the overall craziness. All in all, it was pretty great.

That was hilarious, but also true. It is amazing that the highest truths of these times come from comedians.

Bill Hader is so funny on SNL! I remember when he did a Ronald McD skit! THAT was funny as well! Ronald has some funny moments, so does Mcdonalds!! So sad!!!

Don't be fooled when teabaggers try to spin-doctor their image by SELF-REPORTING that they are educated and wealthy in one highly flawed survey. These claims are not backed up their illiterate signs, speeches, and racist behavior on parade. Furthmore, I thought they were supposed to be such common people. Now they are claiming to be the elite group that they always say they hate. It doesn't wash.

Also note the difference between "tea party supporter" and "tea party participant." The former, who seldom show up at rallies, could very well be as the New York Times described them. The latter, who are the ones actually making f00ls of themselves with their misspelled signs and general white tr@sh appearance, are indeed the useful ID10Ts we all suspect they are.

The puppet masters are educated and wealthy. It is a game they play well. Let the uneducated, and $$ chasers do the dirty work for them.

Comedians were so unhappy that Bush was leaving office. It is nice to see the teabaggers were able to fill that role.

LOL, whatever. While Carville is a character, 'baggers have provided comedians with TONS of material.

Libertarians are Republicans who can't call themselves Democrats. Hapf the people who claim to be Libertarians don't even know what a true Libertarian is or practice it.
08:55 AM on 04/19/2010
I recall a number of interviews of people who said the were long time democrat voters, but no more. Does that now make them a republican? Many more claim to be independent. So I guess your statement boils down to: there are not any Obama supporters in the tea party movement. No kidding.

Yeah so the media needs to create another Obama antagonist because we are so over Palin and the baggers...
08:33 AM on 04/19/2010
I agree with you there. It would seem to me that liberals would kind of like Romney because of Romneycare. Quick poll - of the following (if you're liberal) who do you consider to be the most competent (even if you don't agree with them) major conservative contender:
1. Palin
2. Romney
3. McCain
4. Jindal
5. Huckabee
6. Guliani
7. (Insert your or name or smart remark here)

Yeah, I would pick Romney out of that selection, but this is like picking from a list asking what STD you would rather have.

I'm sorry, your choices are confusing me. They look a little redundant. I'll explain, let me just copy/paste your list:

1. Liar
2. Liar
3. Phony
4. Liar
5. Bigot
6. Liar
7 (Insert your or name or smart remark here)

Yeah - Romney must be ripped about Palin. He gets no press she gets non-stop press. That's so crazy how the media works. They give us Pailn morning noon and night. Palin and Tiger Woods. You would think she has 70 percent approval ratings, yet she represents a sliver of teh American public. In fact, more people are atheisists than Palin supporters, but who is talking about Atheisists?

Don't forget Scott Brown. He is a male Palin - but Republican party has become so anti-intellectual and People magazine star-crossed that he he would be perfect. He has pretty daughters, too.
