Other than the fact that it's too expensive with too many rats/mice/vermin that seek to be among the people, NYC is perfect for anyone regardless of gender, orientation, color or creed - that is if you don't mind the expense and our rodent friends.

In Amsterdam you have sex first and then the option to date.

I concur with most opinions here, I myself lived in the suburbs for over a decade now, and there are great advantages but I always been a city boy and as I get older I feel that the big city is what I really what. Next step - being able to afford to live there, not living it rich but at least decently. NYC is not only "singles town" it just takes more money and some skill/luck to arrange a family life which won't turn everyone crazy.

Anyone else think they just put a list of big cities in random order?
05:27 PM on 04/20/2010
That list is total bunk. I mean like where's Bangkok?

I'am from NJ and my son lives in Brooklyn. But I got my eye on Bangkok.

with a role model like me here, of course new york is the best place for men

AskMen.com also added a big caveat: NYC is NOT a place to look for a wife. They didn't say why, but you can probably guess: so many women living the "Sex In the City" life, and all the baggage which that entails. NYC is great for singles....especially if you want to be single for life. And all that THAT entails.

It's obvious that the people who voted here have never taken a serious look at Atlanta.

I think think they should have said, "best cities for Gay men with an MBA".

Don't know about all of NYC as the best for men but the West Village certainly is. :)
03:10 PM on 04/20/2010
Yeah, like 20 years ago this was true of the West Village. I guess you haven't been there lately. It's a parade of baby strollers now.

20 years ago, try 30 years ago when the the Meatpacking district and the West Village were the places to be. Even Soho when it was an area that was full of "real" artist lofts and parties.

By "real" artist I mean before the use of computers.

Do you like Huey Lewis and the News?
04:36 PM on 04/20/2010
True. NYC has been yuppified and gentrified to death. My very very gay, theater stepbrother moved to Greenwich Village and thinks it's kind of lame. He is happier living in Harlem. (Yes, I know the obvious is the rent is cheaper, but it is cooler, honestly.)

Chelsea, Park Slope-Brooklyn are the places right now or even the Upper West Side.

Where are the women in NYC????????????? Too many issues. They all want to be in the limelight with little to offer. I disagree.

Toronto?! Where the only thing colder than the winters is the women! Montreal on the other hand...

It sure is.

And the empire's collapse is coming real soon.

Why does the theme song from "Three and a Half Men" keep going through my head?

"Men, men, men, men, manly men, men, men....uh-HUH"

Yep, we NYC guys are the greatest!

Beirut - while a political hotbed off and on for a few years - has long been known as the Paris of the Middle East.
