Party people in China, not to mention curious bloggers around the world, are eagerly awaiting the opening of the hottest club in Shanghai - the Obama Club.
Planning to open on April 26th, the club features a tasteful Obama logo with a slender leg pointing out of the O.
From the club's promotional materials:
The Obama Club is probably the largest entertainment clubhouse in Shanghai. Designed by renowned American interior designer Cagley and Tanner from Las Vegas. Occupying a total space of 4,000 square m. The Obama Club is pampered and lavishly decorated - fitted with international top of the range multi-media, audio and visual equipment designed to blow your mind.
So, is the Obama club officially part of the Obama brand? Smart Shanghai rang the Official Spokesperson of the U.S. Consulate General of Shanghai, Scott Walker, to ask:
SmSh: Is the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, involved in Club Obama's soft opening on April 26?
Mr. Walker: Uh yeah, I would seriously doubt it. I don't have a comment. I'm not familiar with the club.
Where are you calling from again?
Are you convinced?
