An important thing that is not mentioned in this video is that bed bug sniffing k9 teams are not equal. Handlers need to be highly skilled and dogs need to be constantly retrained.

When the dog alerts to bed bugs, this should be followed by a visual search to confirm that a bed bug is present. Otherwise, the alert may be what is known as a "false alert." Bedbugger has a FAQ on how to hire a bed bug sniffing k9 team here:
