First Posted: 06/22/10 06:12 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 05:15 PM ET

Today is the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. Across America, communities honor our environmental holiday by raising awareness about green issues and working to make a difference at a local level.

You can also celebrate Earth Day by going to see Disneynature's new film Oceans -- for every person that goes to see the film in its opening week, a donation will be made to The Nature Conservancy.
