Chelsea Clinton's Engagement Ring Makes Public Appearance (PHOTOS)

Although we reported in mid-March that Chelsea Clinton's engagement ring was drawing crowds, we had yet to see it. That changed last night. The private bride-to-be attended the opening night performance of the Broadway musical "Promises, Promises" on crutches (after breaking her heel), accented by an impressive diamond ring. The former first daughter announced her engagement to Marc Mezvinsky in November. They are expected to wed this summer.

Congratulations Chelsea! You have always been a class act. I'm sure Bill will cry at the wedding and MAYBE even Hilary will too. She should have the day off from having to be the "bad guy" foreign policy pro. And oh yes, Marc looks like a terrific guy.

Such a classy lady. I could relate to her image when she was photographed as a teen playing soccer on the WH lawn, and can only sigh with regret I can't still relate to her image. Gorgeous, even on crutches. I wish you all the best, Chelsea and Marc!

Everything I know about Chelsea Clinton is good. I also respect her preference for privacy. How in the world is the size or source of her ring of any news value to almost anyone. How many people were wondering about that before they read it here. ZERO would be my guess, though it tweeks us fondly to read happy news about nice people. Then our curiosity drives our inner voyeur to read the story.

She's a classy lady. I guess she was raised right. You won't see her getting pregnant without a husband, falling down drunk in Austin bars or getting sent to rehab for pill habits. Unlike the daughters of SOME politicians I could name - you know, the politicians who are all about Family Values.
